those trannys can be found but are not lying around all over ,i had to wait to months to find one for my shadow.if i had a extra monts for it id send it to you .give it a couple days some one might have one
Wait a second. That's just the V6 version of the 523 right? If so, I'd check the local salvage yards. I know the yard I deal with has at least a couple of them, possibly more. And that's just one yard.
just saying that i had a hard time finding one there around ,just gota look
Well, I'm sure it varies from one area to another. They seem to be plentiful around here. It's a shame they would be so expensive to ship since I can get them for about $150 each.
i go to all the junkyards in my area and can find any 3.0l manual tranny but i find a million TI engines and any trans you can think of but no manual vans or 3.0Ls
That sounds like the exact opposite of here. I can find a bunch of 5spd and auto 3.0's, but the 4cyl cars are getting pretty scarce.
I can build you one any way you like. 568 gearset, '90/'91 523/543 geareset, '92 and later course tooth 523/543 gearset, 3.50, 3.77 or 3.85 Final drive all your choice.
Drop me an email to Mopartek@aol.com as I have a '90 543 core here right now and we can go over what you want or need.

is the any difference with the speed sensor pickup on the tranny

Anyways splat can probably only do what is in his budget. Transmissions are not free.
im not really looking to spent a ton i just want a tranny that works and i can and on to it later.
$500-$800 for a rebuilt transmission is not a ton.
True, but if you can only afford a $150-$200 junkyard trans and aren't in a position to wait and save the money, then $500-$800 might as well be $100,000.
On the other hand, if you don't need the car in a hurry, then waiting and saving the money for a rebuilt trans is the best option.
i was lookin to spend no more than 200 on a junk tranny or 500-600 on a rebuilt. then has been sittin since march so im not i a rush.
Ive got 2 spares that ive collected for 70-120 dollars each.
I dont understand the logic of NOT using one of you can get a known "decent" one.
Cliff is pretty far from the west coast anyways. I personally wanted to keep collecting the transmissions because they keep showing up in the yard here but once I got 2 extra I started feeling stupid buying more. The sad thing is I think at the pull a part they just get crushed instead of getting sold by one of those "real" wrecking yards. I know they are expensive from those services but at least they dont get crushed.
Did you check www.car-part.com?

Thats probably a 3.50 geared large spline. The rarest 3.0 trans.
Thats not to far is it? :P
If you have to get it shipped, there is one in colorado for 150. Maybe they will ship it and the lesser cost will offset the greater distance.
thats a bit far for me
i sent cliff an email and now i am waiting a response
i dont mind paying 500 for a rebuilt and i like that i can get 3.85 cause my van is not a daily driver
I know of a few near me just sitting on the shelf waiting for someone to come along.....Probably $200-$250.
T
what shape they in
