URGENT! Where's my Speedometer Cable

I'm changing the Speed Sensor in my bro's '90 2.5 Shadow to see if this finally fixes his stalling issue, but there isnt a Speedometer cable hooked up to his Speed sesor right now ?!?

I thought only cars with a digital dash don't have a speedo cable. His is a non-digital dash... and the speedometer works fine with no speedo cable! But doesnt it need a cable ??

Do these cars come without it?

Cables stopped earlier then 90. So it shouldn't have one. Should only have the wires coming out of the SDS.
