I like these Avenger wheels but...

These things are pretty sweet looking, I have Shelby lancer wheels on the Rampage but they're not quite right for it. I painted some pumpers black but they are hanging out on my GLHS right now. I saw these five spoke wheels on an Avenger in the yard they are 16x6 JJ offset seems about right. But then a pulled a wheel off a Shadow sitting next to it, and the bolt pattern is not even close They feel light too!

Those rims are 5x114.5, they are nice and light and look good as well. The only TD they will fit is a Van with Big bolt pattern rims (Large brakes)

yeh definitely eclipse wheels. however, an avenger is a 2g eclipse in all but name.. just a few inches in the middle and a trunklid instead of a hatch. thats about the only difference in the body/suspension.

and also.. any wheels that came stock on an avenger or eclipse wont fit the big pattern van because the center bore hole is too small. tried it :P

They're a two piece wheel, and the rims bend rediculously easily- if you're prone to curbs or potholes that is.

Re: I like these Avenger wheels but...

Any avenger wheel is horrible at bending easily. The other stock wheel thats got the angled spokes is terrible. My friend owned the car for 3 years and it already had 3 bent rims from city driving. He dodges pot holes too. Yes they are light, but they sacrifice that for strength. I never put 2 and 1 together with the Venger and the Eclipse 2 being the same ride basically. I wish I would of known. I think an avenger would of loved a much needed 2.0 turbo/5 speed drivetrain. Best part is it would of swapped quite nicely in a 4 banger car.

The 4G63T swap into an Avenger has been done quite often, in fact I believe there's at least one or two in Omaha. But yes, the wheels and basic structure of the cars are very close to the DSM line. I worked in a tire shop for four years and it was incredibly rare that one of those cars would come in without at least one bent wheel.

Re: I like these Avenger wheels but...

i bent one on my 96 but i ran over a curb at about 15 mph, so i think thats exempt on grounds of stupidity. i took my new 18 lb 18x7.5s through a sinkhole at like 50 and they came out ok, hoping it lasts.

also, my stock 96 avenger 16x6s weighed 19lbs.
