SRT4 cam better than stock DOHC?

Are the SRT4 cams better than a stock DOHC cam at all? I assume that it will interchange.

Same as a regular 2.4, while the 2.0 cams have more lift, and supposedly less overlap compared to the 2.4's.

Some SRT-4 owners are "upgrading" to 2.0 cams.

My roomate did it on his car and it helped tremendously with 5K+ power range according to him.

thats the word, but srt4 owners say that putting 2.0 cams in straight up(0,0) results in losses. So cam gears are a good investment.

So what are the 2.0L cams supposed to be set at in a 2.4L if 0I/0E is not the hot ticket?

Re: SRT4 cam better than stock DOHC?

    well depends who you ask

like usual dyno/track testing is the best way.

I wrote what Russ Jerome said a while back on his hybrid in the 2.4 swap guide in the TM knowledge center. He said 4-6* advance on intake side, pulled smooth from idle to 7k RPM with 0-4* neg on exhaust cam.

Now the SRT guys are pretty similar to this(either +3,-4 or +4,-3. I think someone on here likes -2,+2.

Since all of these motors are not degree'd exactly, they may be all the same, just the factory TDC is off a litlle from one to the next?

Another person found a little different setup worked best for them on the dyno. But most dont move them past 4^ either way and be careful and spin the motor over by hand before starting because you can jam stuff up if the valve is open while at TDC.
