    Dies on uphill idle?

'85 GLH - bone stock, but rescued from a field. Runs great except...

Coming to a stop pointing uphill, the car will die (and fire right back up). It acts just like (Speed-Distance-Sensor) SDS issues, except it only happens when the car is pointed uphill. Is it still SDS issues, and why only facing uphill (oil pooling inside the SDS housing maybe?)?

    Re: Dies on uphill idle?

Is it a turbo car or a carb car?

If it's a carb car I would guess that maybe the float setting in the carb is too low and it's running out of gas.

If it's a turbo car that's unusual. I would see if it still does it with a full tank of gas. After that I would check any loose wiring or something that would maybe move different when the car is aimed uphill. It wouldn't hurt to look into the sds like you mentioned, I've seen more than one of them filled with oil.

    Re: Dies on uphill idle?

Sorry for the missed details -

Turbo car, full tank of gas, no codes. The wiring "appears" to be pretty tight (still in factory harness) but I should check it over real good. The back seat has been removed, so I can hear the fuel pump real good as well - it changes tune (slightly) only when a load is put on as normal.
