    neon engine

    Hi all

Got myself a 97 sohc neon engine and 3 speed tranny...... I am looking into what it is going to take to put this into the turismo.I have already converted the car over to 91 sbec tbi........ should I use the neons wiring harness for engine bay and splice into my current bulk head?....... Anyone know about the fron mount and which axles to go with also?

Thanks guys heres a link to my car http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2291434

isnt the neon engine MPFI? how would you even wire up the 4 injectors to the TBI system?

Looks like a very nice car, but I vote 2.2/2.5 turbo swap.

No more than you need a 2.4 computer to run a 2.4. There are many options out there.

My personal opinion is if you are going through that much work, scrounge up a few hunderd and grab yourself a 2.4. It has much more potential than a 2.0.

Ya I was considering just replacing the whole engine harness to the neons and then splice what needs to be to the Turismos bulk head, Lights ect.....

I was out looking at the mounts today.....and the kringgg wiring..I can more than likely wire it up except Ill have figure out what wires through the factory diagrams that will go through the firewall......neons have a relay box which holds all the relays and some of the funtional fuses that would go under the dash on the Mo' .. p.s what are the benifits of going 2.4?......whats its n/a hp rating? also is there anyway to keep my 87 413 tranny.......I know trhat the neons has the starter on the other side.....just like to save a few bucks as I am not sure what axles would fit.. I still have 4 lug setup and dont want to change.......me rims are purty still

    Thanks guys

    Re: neon engine

Beleive it or not.. 88-up Lbody axles will fit if you swap the kuckles on the neon with 2nd gen Neon knuckles.

    Re: neon engine

Ok but I have an 84 plymouth turismo tho with 4 lug......wouldn't the 88 omni axles work because I still have the same spline on my hubs, or did they change the hub spline size aswell?.... is there a difference between 87 to 88 into the tranny spline size with a 413

    Re: neon engine

I'm sorry I got totally confused.

If you are looking to swap a Neon engine and auto trans into your Lbody, then use '88-up Lbody auto axles. No other mods required.
