i agree, how did this thread change from lip spoiler with potential actual aerodynamic/cooling benefit to goofy --- whale tail / hatch spoilers? MAYBE on a charger but on an omni, no way do those things belong anywhere near the car..

I like that hatch spoiler that extends the roofline a little on the omni. Ive seen pics of it either here or on TD and I told the guy in a PM how cool I thought it looked. I hate to say it but it looks kinda like the aftermarket hatch spoiler i see on a few honduh civic hatchbacks from a few years back. Anyway, this Omni one looked sweet!

That's a saab 900 spoiler. I saw that car 2 or 3 years ago at the Wild West Rally in Pomeroy Wa. Think it's green now. but has the same wheels and spoiler. Talked to the new owners of it. They're kinda clueless and mostly deal in RX-7's.They did have an account on TD.com. Can't remember the screen name off hand.

    Re: omni lip spoiler

I was thinking about making one...because, IMO, the Omni needs something back there.

What I'd really like is a spoiler off the bottom of the hatch...just a simple little squared off edge on there that mounts flush with the body, just to give the back of the car a little better stance.

The front already looks pretty cool IMO.

Off the bottom of the hatch does nothing other than for looks. There's no downforce air that low. Not that being a FWD application you want a bunch of downforce back there anyway.

Nope that's a Vdub spoiler. It's a little wide. I need to find a fiberglass shop that can section and shorten it up. But the angle is right and I'll need all the downforce I can get back there.

    thats all I'm looking for...lol

Not really sure I want to be going fast enough in an Omni to create downforce anyway

a spoiler like this is what i'd want

yes, my mom had an 85, it had one. They are only held on by plastic clips so the first winter did most of them in.

This is what I meant. The little front spoiler would be cool too, like the turbojerk omni.
