Twin Turbo with a VNT and a T-II?

Has anyone thought of this idea? I was thinkin about how to make my VNT faster and thought of this. Is it even possible to run a VNT Turbo with say a T-II garrett? If its possible I am going to try it. And if it is What I am I going to need? I know about a twin turbo manifold setup but what else?

Im not really sure, When I started to think about it I figured it would work like a supercharger, turbo combo, since the VNT turbo spools almost instantly and then by the time you reach full boost the T-II Turbo will pick up. If that sounds right

it would be kinda cool if you could make it the vnt til a certain rpm, then both after that then it would pull the whole way through

You are thinking of a "Sequential Twin-Turbo" setup. Very complex, and very expensive. It would probably be easier to stick with the more common "parallel twin turbo" configuration, and use 2 VNT turbos.

Oh and for this... you are thinking of "compound turbocharging". This is used mostly on diesel engines, and pretty much only for racing. It's used to achieve insanely high boost levels (100+ psi).

But then, only half the exhaust gas is going into each turbo.

I made a post a long time ago about twin VNTs. Take a look at the header on the PPG car for an idea to start with.

A properly sized hybrid will spool as fast as your tires can handle.

Carl Buchbinger experimented with twin mitsu turbos on a SOHC 2.2. He went fast. Then he went faster with a single T3/T4 Hybrid.

That's been proven time and time again, but to me it's not always about as fast as possible, even when on a budget, sometimes it's just about neat.

No that's probably a good thing. Would be a way better highway car.
