I think my cooling issues are solved

I just picked up my custom radiator and it looks great. I had them make it out of a stock T1 L body radiator. It is shortened by 1 1/2 inches, they removed the tranny cooler, put a threaded heater bypass that can be plugged, and used a truck core that cools as well as a 5 row core. The only downside is that it is heavy. It cost $445 out the door but at least I know it will do the job.

I had it done by Empire Radiator.

    No comments????

I think I may have violated the turbo dodge creed of buying cheap stuff and making it work.

my only question is for that money why didnt you go with something different? ie custom fit aluminum? etc

That just "look" like a stock rad to me, and if thats the point then good job! but I would think the core would need to be thicker to support all the rows, otherwise you just start making the rows thinner and thinner, and impeding flow.

It does look good but the core looks like a regular TII core. I can see where they removed the auto cooler but if it truly does cool like a truck 5 core, then sweet, thats a good price,

Brass cools better than aluminum and I am going for function over looks. He said he could make an aluminum one for me but this one cools better. It is a high cool core that is usually used in commercial applications. I am not sure how they do it but they are able to cool just as well as a thicker core.

    Thank you.

Unless I come up with a good aftermarket unit, you are saving my ars.

With a recent accident, I am going back to an original sized TI radiator.

My TII unit has been recored, I played with different thermostats.

Still overheating in hot weathered traffic.

    Thank you
    Jason
