Thread: WTB new '84/5 HEP by airmail

WTB new '84/5 HEP by airmail

I can get an '86+ one in this country no problem, but for an '84/5 one it seems it'll be a while 'till I could get one shipped in officially ...

Could someone send me one over? Parts cost and express airmail P&P paid (via Paypal), plus some beer money for your trouble

If some's up for it, plug leads, distributor cap, rotor and a set of radiator pipes would be nice too, but not essential This Daytona needs some TLC!

    Mopar parts?

Sounds like a prefect excuse to go and get the 87TII stuff.

Anything that'll work, Autozone, Napa, or whatever!

This one is staying stock for insurance purposes, the Rusty Rocket will be broken up for parts, and I'll be keeping all my extra TII stuff for a rainy day

then just upgrade to 86 TI stock. It'll be a LOT cheaper than getting an HEP for an 84 airmailed in. I think the 84/85 hep is more expensive than the others too.

ok, I have the SC going spare, I thought there were big differences between the wiring on the '84/5 and '86/7 T1s though?

If its an easy swap I'd appreciate more info, electronically the SC is in reasonable working order

I've been quoted about $65 for an '84 HEP, to be delivered in 10 days.

Re: WTB new '84/5 HEP by airmail

I understood that the difference between 85TI and 86TI was just a new style distributor and a different HEP...and a different LM that is calibrated for the different HEP. That's it. I could be wrong though.

He could do that if his car was an 85, but its an 84, so he has to swap the whole harness or replace the HEP.

Urgh ... don't want to get into swapping the whole lot, just want to drive my new car! (I will, however, now be saving the SC harness for future use )

ok, back to the first post. can anyone post me these bits? All fees paid, plus a bit for your trouble!

    So you need the following parts for an '84 Daytona;

    HEP
    Ignition wires
    Cap & rotor
    Lower & upper rad hoses

    Anything else?

Would you prefer OEM, jobber or whatever is cheaper?

Re: WTB new '84/5 HEP by airmail

    That covers it!

Whatever is cheaper, this is just a runabout

OEM parts, Canadian funds, tax included.

    HEP, $94.78
    Distributor cap, $16.05
    Rotor, $13.00
    ignition wires, $29.56
    Lower rad hose, $14.84
    Upper rad hose, $32.44

Maybe someone can check State side?

At my local autozone you can get:

    wires: DURALAST 4211 $19.99
upper radiator hose: KELLY_SPRINGFIELD UPPER CURVED M-324 $9.99
lower radiator hose: KELLY_SPRINGFIELD LOWER CURVED XL-325 $12.99
HEP: Not available in store (have to order)
    cap: WELLS CR910 $3.99
    rotor: WELLS CR913 $5.99

Everything except the HEP is available at my local autozone.

That holds true for all the autoparts store in town. No one has the HEP (I didnt check the dealer)

Surprisingly, the US dollar is pretty close to the Canadian dollar at the mo ...

Thankyou both for checking, Autozone looks like the winner at the moment! Clay, are you up for this?!

Dealer HEP is ok, if its convenient to you get one there.
