    cooling mod

    may as well do it while its apart, who has the link for the #4 (i think) cooling mod or instructions on how to do it?

    Check out the Knowledge Center or the FAQ's,

    Isn't the way that it's done in the knowledge center bypass the thermostat? I've seen several different ways to do the number 4 coolant mod. Your car's coolant temp would never warm up especially the larger hose you use.

    I'll go have a look but mine was done at the drivers side of the head to the waterpump inlet and worked perfectly,

    Doesn't that bypass the thermostat though? Does your engine take a long time to warm up?? They say if you drill 1/8'' hole instead of 1/16'' in your thermostat it makes a big difference, well heck a 1/4'' hose should be huge.

    Not at all, all this does is promote flow thru the #4 area. Drilling the thermostat is a different operation. I had the stat drilled 1/16 and the coolant mod, it warmed up very fast and temp stayed very steady. Before the mods, the temp guage would move around while driving.
