    smoking

ok got the .60 comp housing and 57 trim wheel turbo on the car and still smokes.
im running really rich but that is being worked out.
fresh rebuild but old turbo blew up

    89 2.5 t2(just about)
there is alot of black smoke on accel from running rich but there is also alot of white smoke.
i dropped the downpipe thinking to see oil in the swingvalve but noting. just a thin black layer of soot.

also the same in the exhaust.
    any suggestions
i also dropped the oil return and saw the gasket was leaking a bit and there looks to be a oil train about half way down the exhaust.

    Re: smoking

If your using coolant, the plugs are dirty, then you have a bad turbo, blown head gasket or cracked head.

    Re: smoking

LOL Simon... You had me going at first too. I was like wtf. I read it as, "are you using coolant in the system"

Usually white smoke indicates buring coolant. You said you ARENT burning coolant? Hmm... Just wondering, are you going 'BURNING' oil?

the steel valve cover with 2 pcv valves. one has a filter and the other runs to a catch can and to the inlet of the turbo.

    Re: smoking

Do this test, take off both PCV valve filter and thoe house and just let the valve cover vent to air and start the car and see if it smokes.
