    rear disk brakes

i will be swapping rear discs onto my shadow pretty soon here. i was wondering if anyone may have a picture of thier rear discs so i can see where the lines and rubber lines go? are they pretty much the same as drums? i'd appreicate it!

No pics handy, but on drums the lines go to the back of the wheel cylinders, and on disk, the lines go to the calipers, so they are different.

I have pics on the other computer, not handy at the moment. When I swapped to rear discs on my Daytona, I was able to bend the factory line enough to match up. Basically you just have to point it towards the back of the car as opposed to the side.

i wouldnt hook a hard line straight to the caliper as its a floating caliper and the movement could eventually cause the line to break. fortunately, the factory rear brake hose will screw right onto the factory drum brake line so just hook em up and tie it back or bolt it down so it doesnt rub anything and you're good to go.

Sorry, I didn't clarify. Yes, the hard line plugged into the flexible hose which allows the caliper to move. The end that the hard line screws into is held in place by a bracket on the back of the backing plate.

i'm gathering up some new parts to do the swap. i wanted to make the parking brake functional again. can you still get the parking brake shoes?? i've been to a few different sites and found the hardware and such but no listing on the shoes themselves...

    thanks!
