Minivan rotors vs car rotors 10"

Is the thickness the only difference? I threw my 10 inch car and van stuff away so nothing to compare it to.

Will a car 10 inch rotor work on a van with no problems?

Re: Minivan rotors vs car rotors 10"

I hope so. I'm putting 10" van calipers/brackets on my car. I hope I don't have to change rotors. I'll let you know how it goes. Should be going back together next weekend...

Re: Minivan rotors vs car rotors 10"

I know van rotors work on cars, so other than thickness and number of vents/fins, they're interchangable.

As for the thickness.. Check the minimum thickness on the van rotor and see if it's less than the normal thickness on a car rotor. If it is, you're good.

You'll want to make sure car rotor doesn't wear and get thinner than the van minimum, though. So in other words, don't go by the minimum thickness stamped on the car rotor, use van specs.

Its nothing that complicated, the vans have thicker pads, so the vent portion of the van rotor is alot thinner. As long as the pads are worn a bit, the car ones will work fine.

when I upgraded my 90 Shadow ES using caravan front brakes I used brand new shadow rotors with van pads. I had to remove the shim off the pads to get them to fit.

I just put the minivan calipers on the front of my Daytona tues night. No problems at all - perfect fit. That's with new pads on the minivan calipers, and the rotors are essentially new (new last season, less than 100 miles total driving, no real wear on them).
