    Anyone running Megasquirt

Anyone running Megasquirt with a sub-routine to run the 03 and newer crank angle sensor for spark as well?
I know there is a sub-routine for the 2002 and older neon crank sensor.

    Re: Anyone running Megasquirt

I know theres some info floating around, a thread on srtforums, and prob on neons.org

Steve Lockett is using it on the black car and likes it alot

    http://www.srtforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=299

well I looked into it for you and there was a prob w/ a 6200rpm stumble, but seems to be worked out

its close, I'm not that up on it
you could allways use the standard ms crank setup, but it looks that its very close to having a great starting map

no dont think so, from what I read it was like a limiter, not just a prob spot. Like I said though I didnt read all of it.

Dean apparently they got it working on a newer 2.0, w/ ngc crank, w/ no probs, which as I under stand it the cranks are the same, just those fuel/spark tables would be a little different from a SRT4 setup

oh yeah make sure you put a restrictor in the block(as I dont think the srt4's came w/ anything but the gasket) and you dan go smaller than the stock td one

The valve float issue starts at 6200rpms and kills power after that.
THere is a lot of misinformation going around about that. Darrel cox claims to have fixed the actual problem which is excess oil pressure in the head causing the lifters to overpump and preventing the valves from closing (so not really "valve float")

Seems like anyone getting into the newer 16v's should make sure they dont get to much oil pressure in the head. Not sure what DCR's "fix" fits into but its a drop in for srt 2.4's. Dont know what size restrictor to use, I would just buy his part.

especially w/ the newer block. The newer ones dont have any restrictor at all besides the headgasket. The older 2.4's (95-9x) had the same one as the common block, then at some point when teh MLS gasket came out they droped it completley.

You deff will want at least the old TD restrictor, which is ~.140" and the gasket I measured was like ~.180". I went w/ .110"

There is some helpful info in the 3.0 section at the other site. m90daytona over there got his 3.0 running on megasquirt. He did a pinout diagram for hookining the MS to each part of the car required & the relays too. I know some actual details will be quite different for you.

    Hi,
I have bought a unit it has the version 2 board and the ms2 chip. I can use it the way it is by running a 36 tooth -1 tone wheel and crank sensor and module from a escort ..Using this set up will allow me to use the wasted spark neon coil and still run fuel and spark also a 4 wire stepper motor. Still workin on my mounts and bracketry. and cylinder head.

    Re: Anyone running Megasquirt

Hey Dean, just ordered a megasquirt set up ready to go for the neon from rsautosport. If you specify you have the ngc crank sensor(srt4 and newwr neon) then they will upload the code for it before they ship it.

Not sure how far you are on yours, but there it is incase you need it.
