Thats pretty much my question. I have a 2.5" downpipe off a 89 daytona ES that I would like to use on my 85 laser. Will it fit in the stock swingvalve or no?

you'll have to slot the downpipe's flange to fit the older style flange. the bolt pattern is wider on the newer vehicles.
That sounds easy enough. As long as the pipe will fit, I should be fine. Thanks
its off by about 1/2'' I did it when i put the Garrett on my T1. its easy.
Got it mostly in last night after struggling with a broken bolt on the driver side for about 3 hours. the bolt broke on the downpipe side and there wasn't enough room to push it out the top if i cut it so i had to twist it out with vise grips. unfortunately i ran out of time so my 3" exhaust will have to wait until next weekend. d'oh!
I did this mod to my 86 Lebaron T1. It was good for about .2 in the 1/8 th
mile. I got a 2 1/2" downpipe from a turbo Acclaim at the JY for $3.
