I had an Autolite 64 die after about 10 minutes. It looks new but stopped working. Scared the heck out of me when I suddenly developed a dead miss! I put another plug in and all is well.

Can't say that I have, but we do live in an imperfect world. --it happens.
Very rare but has happened.

My Neon had a plug arc and blow the procelain from top to bottom. High voltage, clean your hands before installing. I had a shorted brand new light bulb blow the breaker and smoke the wires when I screwed it in the ceiling fixture.
I've had one where the whole top just fell off when I went to put the HT lead on, and one that never sparked at all.

I had a whole set of plugs be bad from the get go.
Car ran worse w/new plugs.
Found the problem one night when I was doing something under the hood & saw each plug had a nice glow ring (froma bad seal, it was arcing while running) around the porcelin base when it was running.
I obviously tossed them, got new ones, all was good.
That was my one & only time I had ne plugs be bad.

Funny that, electrics were one thing that didn't let me down on my old Triumphs! (had 5, made between '63 and '80)
I bought a brand new set of Champion Copper Plus' to install in a 93 Sundance I was working on for my girlfriends daughter. Put them in, car ran better but it had a badly leaking injector. Fixed that. Put the original Autolites back in and called it a day. Car ran great. Took the Champions back home to let them dry out after being soaked in gas from the leaky injector. They sat on my bench for three weeks. Decided to use them in the winter beater. Brushed 'em up a little and installed them. 2 out 4 wouldn't fire anymore.... strange
My problems were mostly due to coroded connectors. Probably more a result of the age of the car and the care it saw before I got it than anything else.
Lucas made a handy scapegoat though.
