My first check in March I'm planning on buying a WB 02 sensor. I spoke with Cindy a bit about one and she reccommended the AEM unit.
What do you guys think about it?

i've had the AEM unit in my omni for a year now and have yet to see a better looking WB gauge or one easier to read on the fly. w/ prices of WB devices dropping theres just no reason to run a narrow band a/f gauage anymore.
I would say so unless you want to datalog(so you dont have to stare at it instead of the road after making adjustments)
After reading this post and following the link to the website I like the capabilities of the LC-1.

if your datalogging from the wideband and the ECU it wouldnt really matter would it?welll i guess then you would just have to match up the logs
i just picked up an AEM unit last night hehe
95 spirit 3.0/543 15.0@91 N/A, 14.5@96 on a 50 shot RIP 87 shelby Z - project car, maybe I can drive it this year 91 spirit - roll it, chop the top, do some burnouts! RIP
Can we get this into a WB debate? I will be picking one up in the coming weeks.
The ones I was looking at are:
Innovate Motorsports LC-1 with XD-16 gauge (~$399 includes sensor)
Zeitronix Zt-2 (~$279 includes sensor)
WBo2 2a1 with LA1 gauge (~$582.50AU($458.89US) includes sensor) also offer diy setups
AEM (~$349.41 includes sensor)
Not trying to highjack. Just think we should go over the options

if there is one better for datalogging i would be willing to sell my unit and get a better one. but it would have to really be worth it

Please, I'd like to know what's the best unit for the price.
For my needs alone, I'm only going to be looking for a simple A/F reading, no datalogging or that such. I wont be looking for that fine, few extra ponies. I will however be running alky or meth and knowing my A/F ratio is a must.
Anyone priced the Tech-edge units lately, I have one and think its great for the price, handles datalogging like a champ, and even has a simulated narrowband signal that you can send back to the ecu so you only have to run one sensor. The signal is also programmable so you can trick the ECU to get better fuel ratios. Plus datalogging of 3 voltage signals, rpm, and 3 EGT's. Just thought I'd confuse the issue more.
For a plug in, instant usage version, then one of the products from our vendors is the best.
For mine, I went techedge, but that is because I am a geek and can't stop myself from creating more projects.... here is mine with pictures!

Tech-Edge is what I listed as wb02. They do have some nice options.

I went w/ a LC-1 and LMA-3 Auxbox from Innovate because they have great software for datalogging and doing almost anything you can think of. When you combine the 2(which on the website isnt clear that you can, but on the forum it says you can, just have to make sure the firmware is up to date) you can datalog 6 functions including A/F, EGT, RPM, MAP, built in accelerometer, and duty cycle or choose another 5v of your choice in place of any of the above.
I picked this because of the software mainly(compared to zeitronix) and I wanted to datalog egt vs. rpm vs. psi vs. a/f.
There is a PLX unit for around the same price that even does knock and the software looks great(I already had an LC-1)
If you dont want rpm then you can get a TC-4($129.99) to datalog up to 4 EGT channels or temp probe as well as A/F(w/ LC-1)
If you dont want EGT then you can get a SSI-4(129.99) to datalog against rpm also duty cycle and 2 others as well as A/F(w/ LC-1)
The LC-1($199 w/ sensor, no display) has 2 programable 0-5v outputs, so you can send one to the stock ECU(not sure why you couldnt, although I wouldnt put it in the swingvalve) and the other to a gauge(cheap narrow band A/F gauge($45) or a nice one like this
http://www.veisystems.com/uvm-m.html
You can datalog or display using a computer out of the box
Also the AEM UEGO is ~$240(w/ sensor and display) on ebay and the newer one is ~$265 everyday(no datalogging)
The Zeitronix ZT-2 is ($279w/ sensor and no display has egt also but no probe and rpm, this is to be displayed on a computer) w/ the LCD display is $399
can also record/display boost w/ their expensive sensor, and trigger alarms/lights
I have to say I am very happy with my NGK Powerdex AFX unit. Big LED display, easily transportable from vehicle to vehicle, compact, and inexpensive $299 w/sensor.

where is the ideal place to put the WBO2 sensor? In the swing valve, like stock?

My understanding is the WB02 has to be placed a certain distance from the swingvalve.

WB O2 sensors are very heat sensitive (500-900 deg F), so they won't be reliable in the stock location (unless you use some sort of heat-sink device to shield the sensor).
The best setup is to weld a bung onto the exhaust at least 12" away from the turbo outlet, but before the catalytic converter.
Hope this helps,

if you can solder well, you cant beat the DIY techedge kits. if you have a palm pilot to use as the display (has to have serial connection) and get the 7057 sensor from www.1stvwparts.com, you can come out right around 200$us or less. when I bought mine the VW sensor was 37$.... demand has brought that price up significantly.
the features of the TE unit are super sweet too.
Tyler, did you ever get that password situation straightened out? shoot me a PM if you did.
