EFI Fuel pressure/ running turbo pump in a EFI car.

Been a while....a long while since I did any work on a 2.2/2.5 efi car and I'm a bit rusty. Got a friend with a 90 spirit, 2.5efi and a supposed dead fuel pump.

What FP is it supposed to run? 43psi if I remember right but who knows.

Also, I've got a spare stock turbo pump laying around and this is a fix it cheap project. Anyone run a turbo pump in an efi car and how did it affect a/f? Figure there might be too much volume from the bigger pump.

I thought it was 55psi at key on. Then rising 1:1 for 1psi of boost add 1 psi of fuel pressure? I could be wrong, but that seems to be what I remember as the numbers I was looking for on my 89 baron T1.

TBI not turbo, that's where the problem lays for me as it's been forever since I worked on a TBI car.

Just read on allpar---Stock tbi fuel pressure is 39 psi. I have to assume this is running with all vacuum lines connected.

No personal input using a turbo fuel pump in a non-turbo application.

If the base pressure is indeed around 40 ish psi, then yes, you can use the stock turbo pump. If the TBI is low, around 15-20, I wouldn't use the turbo pump. FYI 91 and up, TBI's and Turbo's used the same pump,

I stand corrected Of course, that happens quite often it seems with cars at least.
