Perhaps this has been discussed before (I did a search and came up with nothing), but what are the best bearings to use for high performance applications?

any of the work just fine. in my race engines, I used Federal Mogal, Clevite, pioneer... all worked w/o a problem. 300+hp, 8000 rpm, several seasons of hard racing.
usally all out race engines use a softer babbit material bearing(sometimes needing regular replacement), but clevite, f. mogul all have worked well for me and are usally a tri-metal bearing.
I just got my crank back from the machine shop and I was talking with the guy and he suggested getting clevite bearings with a "v" or "h" suffix as instead of the common "p" ones. Anyone had any experience in this area?
