    2.2 RWD head gasket

My freind has a 2 whel drive truck with the 2.2 in it and well it needs a head gasket and he offered me 150 plus parts to do it,I know it should be easy but I was wondering how much different it is from the FWD cars,as I have never seen one up close.

I put one in a 95 Dakota a year or so ago, it's even easier than doing one in a fwd car. Should be no problem if you've done a fwd one before.

$150 and parts extra or $150 including parts?

It's $21 for mopar performance head gasket, $12 for coolant, $24 for headbolts, $10 for oil and filter, $13 for valve cover gasket, ... and whatever you breaks...

you forgot the MOST important part.. resurfacing the head. that is even more important than replacing the head bolts (which even Chrysler says you don't need to).

this is a lot more complicated than doing a HG on a FWD because everything is facing the wrong way and there is no turbo.

your kidding right? it will be different yes, but I dissagree about the more difficult part. Its just a tbi motor, and no turbo means less things to dissconnect and the truck engine compartment allows greater access to everything. If you've done a HG on a FWD 2.2/2.5 then the dakota should be no problem.

LOL! I can stand next to my engine inside the engine bay in my Dakota! The only thing easier would be for the engine to be on a engine stand.
