    Line Lock Revisited

Could you put a line lock at the rear of the car to set the rear brakes for burn outs? Or just run one on each side of the rear?

    Re: Line Lock Revisited

If you keep the stock distribution block, you'll need 2 line locks (1 for each wheel). The stock braking system is a diagonal split (RF/LR and LF/RR).

You could also do like me and convert to a front/rear split system with a line lock and aftermarket prop valve...

Yeah I knew about the diagonal deal. Someone suggested doing the aftermarket prop valve.

I got rid of diagonal braking in my SC and ran an adjustable proportioning valve to the rear.

but why don't you just use the ebrake? does the same thing.

I have 2 locks on the rear of my Z, works great.

E-brake would be ok on a rear drum car if it is good working condition, You'll probably break the e-brake on a rear disk car after a few trips to the track.

    Re: Line Lock Revisited

I hadn't broken mine yet (in about 30 passes), but there's a lot of hand shuffling going on to operate the shifter (to pull 2nd gear), hold onto the steering wheel, and pull the e-brake release, all in the burnout box. Especially because the e-brake release on my '89 is on the left.

I either need a line-lock, or an extra hand...

Yeah, line lock on a toggle switch (instead of just the momentary button) helps in a 5-speed

    Re: Line Lock Revisited

My SRT-4 will sometimes drag the rear tires and pull itself out of the water box. I don't want to have any problems with the Horizon doing that
