Thread: What color was the block painted....

    What color was the block painted....

    ....on an '86 glhs?

    i presume it was same as on any other glh turbo block, were they painted black? or left natural? maybe natural with a anti-oxidation clear coating?

    im pretty sure the were painted black. I dont see why it would be any different from and other TD.

    Same color as the car........black.

    thanks, i was thinking black since i see a lot of black paint on the block now and i wanted to be certain.

    Steve do you know if it was a gloss black or a satin?

    FSM and MP Book both say all the 2.2/2.5 engines were painted black.

    thanks. looks to be a semi-gloss to full gloss based on looking at the paint left on my block and pix of have of some low-mileage engines.

    Semi gloss best describes the sheen. Full gloss would be too much.
