    Ok TM Experts......

See if you can figure this one out.......

On cold start up Oil pressure is around 50psi and when warmed up oil pressure drops to 25-30. Sounds good right? Well, If im driving normal and slow acceleration its fine..and if i just "blip" the throttle the oil pressure raises normal........BUT if i get into it...the pressure drops from 30 slowly to 0......

I'm the farthest thing from an expert, but perhaps the teeth on the aux. shaft/oil pump are stripped, or en route.

Is it an OEM or aftermarket guage? If the first, I'd try a different sending unit. If the later, where is the guage tapped into? At higher rpm it could somehow be be pulling a vacuum if the guage is not "T"ed in right.

+1 on the sending unit. I had almost the exact issue on the Omni and FREAKED...Was fine near 1k to 2k but get it up over that and the needle would drop...
My solution was a mechanical gauge. Now 30 at 1k, 50 at 3k...

EDIT: I am in no way a T-M expert nor do I claim to be one. My advice/opinions are based on personal experience usually verifiable by a non-related party. Not valid in AK, HI, or PR....

Could be starvation! Maybe the baffled pan is not letting the oil return fast enough, did you hit anything to dent the oil pan closer to the pick up? When Tony and I rebearinged the daytona we put a melling pickup on the new pump and it was too close to the pan. I had to make little sump into the pan for clearance. Now I check the clearances with clay every time I do a motor.
I would check it with a good mechanical gauge before i started taking the pan off to check clearances.

As goofy as this sounds, my old 90 SPirit Turbo did this... turns out the PLUG was junk. Replaced it, problem went away.

What sendoe. If it is the old style with the push on connector, they tend to "float" as you drivee. Carefully crimp it down a bit. I had the same issue and it was a nervous affair when I first got my GLHS.

Seeing yours is an "L" body. You should have the same connector. Oil pressure issues are not real common. Tbhe electrical issue is. At first sign everyone on here yells mechanical guage. It's overkill.

THAT'S THE ONE!!! Give the elec connector a "slight" crimp. Careful not to break the casing.... Worked on 3 cars for me.

I would buy a cheap mechanical and temporarily install it. See what happens and report back.

Its only for temp use so the plastic line is fine. All he will do is hook it up, tape the guage to the windshield and see what happens.
