Has anyone successfully conjured a way to install a heat shield underneath a stock TII intake manifold (in this case a two piece)? Last year while building the engine for my Daytona, I made two attempts, one useing a sheet of aluminum carefully formed (with a hammer) to fit the bottoms of the intake runners, and the second using one of those self adhesive heat blankets you can buy thru Summit. Neither attempt was successful and the idea was dropped. Now that I am reassembling the engine to drop in my Shelby Charger, I find myself wondering if there's a good way to do it. Seems to me that keeping as much heat as possible off of the intake manifold would be benificial.
