I would also say go with a hall-effect sensor on the crank wheel... Generally a trigger on the crank will be more accurate (no belt to stretch or shrink...)

As for the distributor, you could keep...

  4. Re: Guidance / Advice Wanted - Finding salvage vehicle auctions and bidding advice

Worth noting that in many cases you need a license to buy a vehicle. There are some vehicles at certain locations that are "no license required". You will have to see if there are any in your area....

Re: L-Body Drums - Where can you buy them?

Yes the drum and hub separate. I have used a block of wood and a small sledge. May have to use some heat...

You can also just buy a new hub as well...

    Re: Difficult Ignition Cutout Problem

Have you considered that you might have a wiring problem?

Have you determined what you are losing? ie. Are you losing fuel? Are you losing spark?

I would try doing some light pressing on...

Re: 87 reliant start and immediately stalls

I believe that since these are low-impedance injectors that should have a peak and hold waveform. You will need a scope to see if the pattern is correct. Decent chance the injector drivers are...

Re: 87 reliant start and immediately stalls

We need some more direction. What is missing that is causing it to stall:

If you give the engine some throttle on startup does it stay running... if so IAC issue.
    If you spray some starter...

A few years ago I bought a Daytona with a bad engine. Wondered why. I had it sputter on a quick turn. Traced that to the plastic sump issue. My assumption is that the prior owner to a long hard...

  19. Re: 1990 Daytona powder driver seat moving but not enough

Likely the seat motor is dieing, binding or has a bad connection. I would back probe the connector with a multimeter and watch the voltage to the seat motor as you move it. If the voltage drops,...

Does that actually diagnose the problem?

If the solenoid is stuck open (full or partial) it seems like the problem would continue. To diagnose a stuck solenoid you would need an oscilloscope...

  25. Re: so .. Fram vs Wix .. something to consider-maybe
