Meanwhile, back at the SMEC diagram, there is mention of Fuse J2. Can see all kinds of references to J2 on sheet H8 but no sign of a Fuse J2. All the rest of the fuses have numbers but no letters....

So, what sort of event must occur for Automatic Shutdown to take place? There must be some input to the SMEC saying "no more voltage to the Z1 circuit, please."

So what happens if I just hot-wire it so I can activate the ASD from a switch inside the care. Would that blow the damn thing up?

The blue/yellow wire that is supposed to bring the +12v to the ASD, but is not doing so, comes out of the SMEC. I believe that I have been SMEC'd.
