Re: 89 Plymouth Voyager SE Turbo Van

Love that video beating the Scooby. Almost sounds like "what the hell?" in the background at 16 seconds. Like someone looked up from their PBR tall can and saw what was happening on the track..

Re: My first Turbo Mopar -- 88 Lebaron !!!

I think you'll see 60psi or so on a cold start-up. 10psi minimum at hot idle, and 10psi more for every 1K RPM's. I run 10-40 in everything personally.

Re: My first Turbo Mopar -- 88 Lebaron !!!

Because that puts it in limp mode and reverts to base timing without any ECU compensating. You want it at 12 degrees base timing and then the ECU adjusts from there.

    Ditto on the factory gauge...

Re: My first Turbo Mopar -- 88 Lebaron !!!

Think about it like a tire. PSI is the same measurement as in a tire but with a turbo it's in the intake manifold, and yes all of your vacuum lines so you have to make sure they are in tip-top shape...

    Re: 1.4l Garrett turbo

I could be totally wrong, but doesn't the Ford Fiesta use the same thing? From how I understood it, you basically have two standard manual transmissions sitting side by side and it shifts seamlessly...

    Re: 1.4l Garrett turbo

I haven't looked a whole lot, but used they seem pretty reasonable. I see a 2012 on cl with under 50K miles for $10995 right now. Seen a few others under 15K that are low mileage also.

    Edit, here...

    Re: 1.4l Garrett turbo

My wife is the issue there, she'll never figure out how to drive a stick. I have my LeBaron and there's just no way I can justify another car she can't/won't drive. The 200 would make a nice upgrade...

    Re: 1.4l Garrett turbo

Seems like a Chrysler 200 with the 3.6 would be the way to go over a Dart IMO. I haven't seen them side by side, but both look great in person and in pictures. The Dart just doesn't have any...

Re: 91 Spirit R/T down on power

Totally different avenue but maybe a wheel bearing? You should be able to tell fairly easily if one of them is producing nuclear heat after driving it. That could be holding the car back as you...

Re: Swap one gtp for another

Congrats on the sale, was fun watching that auction and a couple of the others. The Honda Z600 was a neat little car, I could totally see myself driving around town in something tiny like that.

    So...

Re: Swap one gtp for another

I'd back it down a hair, hitting overboost shutdown repeatedly is tough on the engine. Either that or time for an ECU upgrade.

He did say "worth" 25K, pretty sure he means market value. The Consulier in question recently sold for $23,000 real American dollars. What pre-1990 car are you going to challenge that with? I see a...

Another vote for the Lancer, assuming the LeBaron is a convertible. If a coupe then it might be a coin toss for me.

Finding one in good shape would be the most difficult part. I'd target a Caliber SRT4 personally. I don't think as many of those found themselves in the clutches of morons. iTurbo on here speaks very...
