  1. Re: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z T3 DOHC Tuned at FwdPerformance

How much boost are u able to make while staging?
  2. Re: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z T3 DOHC Tuned at FwdPerformance

Well 474hp @26psi was already made at 7k with the power still climbing,so the peak power to be made @26psi is still unknown. Just raising the boost 10 more psi could possibly raise the HP 100 more...
  3. Re: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z T3 DOHC Tuned at FwdPerformance

With the way the graph is climbing and since the peaks have not been found yet, I could see well over 600 HP with the combo that you have.
  4. Re: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z T3 DOHC Tuned at FwdPerformance

    Camshaft timing?
  5. Re: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z T3 DOHC Tuned at FwdPerformance

Looks like peak torque is still rising some as well!!
  6. Re: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z T3 DOHC Tuned at FwdPerformance

    That's terrible! Sorry to hear!
  7. Re: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z T3 DOHC Tuned at FwdPerformance

I plan on using a .027 Cometic headgasket instead of milling the deck.
  8. Re: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z T3 DOHC Tuned at FwdPerformance

Looking forward to hearing of the results of your outing!!!
  9. Re: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z T3 DOHC Tuned at FwdPerformance

    Looks great!!
  10. Re: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z T3 DOHC Tuned at FwdPerformance

Here is a website that hits on what I have been saying about weight transfer. www.turnfast.com in the articles topics go to handling and then go to weight transfer at the top of the page to read...
  11. Re: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z T3 DOHC Tuned at FwdPerformance

I have to agree with you that some of the weight is being transferred while suspension movement is taking place, the exact amount and how quickly will vary with different spring rates. although I...
  12. Re: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z T3 DOHC Tuned at FwdPerformance

I remember when I still had my Daytona (manual trans.). I put some rear travel limiters on this car. I would have traction until I felt the limiters come into play and then stop any further squat. At...
  13. Re: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z T3 DOHC Tuned at FwdPerformance

A manual car is more touchy and much harder to launch. But the same laws of physics still apply.

Use the boost by gear!!! That can do wonders for a 60' and will carry...
  14. Re: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z T3 DOHC Tuned at FwdPerformance

The weight is going to be transferred regardless. Delaying/controlling the transfer from allowing some rear travel can help.
  15. Re: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z T3 DOHC Tuned at FwdPerformance

You will have to tune on the suspension, but I feel the result will be lower 60's. Staging the boost (speed or gear based) helped me as well.
  16. Re: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z T3 DOHC Tuned at FwdPerformance

I did mention lower ride height helping (aerodynamics, and less total travel). But travel in the rear still helps. Like I said, been there, done that on the stiff/locked rear end. I remember a FWD...
  17. Re: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z T3 DOHC Tuned at FwdPerformance

I can't really comment on the difference in total weight from more or less movement. But a really stiff or locked down rear will transfer the weight immediately whereas the softer rear that allows...
  18. Re: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z T3 DOHC Tuned at FwdPerformance

Actually, the stiffer the rear, the sooner the weight will be transferred to the rear (been there, done that). As long as there is movement (squat), no weight is actually shifted to the rear until...
  19. Re: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z T3 DOHC Tuned at FwdPerformance

Thank, mine too! This was my very first TD.[/QUOTE]

Nice ride!! '84 Daytona turbo that I bought in '86 was my first TD. That car still gets talked about by those that remember it. Spanked a...
  20. Re: 1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z T3 DOHC Tuned at FwdPerformance

I guess the ported head and decent sized turbo moved peaked power to the right even with stock cams.
