Thanks for all the replies everybody! And yes, the 25 is NOT static, it's about 40psi with the vac line disconnected. So it sounds like what I need to do is set the FPR, vac line disconnected, to...
Thanks for the reply! Can you elaborate a little on what you mean by back up? Back up to what?
Any suggestions on who does custom calibrations? Aries_Turbo?
Any thoughts on what the actual...
I have a 1987 Shelby CSX. The engine has a ported head, mildly ported header, full 3" exhaust, some boost modifications, is using the Mopar Performance ECU originally sold by Shelby, the P4529495...
Oh, and another thing I noticed - not really on topic with MAFs and whatnot, but the turbos on the Subie's look like they have the wastegate referenced directly off the cold-side outlet. Boo to...
Okay, after all the turbo books I've read over the years, I came away with a general feeling of "there are two ways, SD and MAF. Both are good in their own ways, for turbos the best way seems to be...
Thanks for the replies, guys! It's funny you guys say that about MAFs - I understand why all new cars are MAF, it provides more control for the computers to adjust to conditions. However, I am a SD...
Okay, I went back and re-read through one of my books, and it had this to say about it:
The above is from Street Turbocharging by Mark Warner, PE; pages 110 & 111 - with my comments in bold...
Hey Simon, I was trying to ask the question in general though I did have some specific cars in mind. I'm in the process of getting a new car, a 2011 STI - which uses a MAF setup. My "project" car...
Hey everyone, so I know the essential differences between a MAF setup versus a Speed Density set up. My car uses Speed Density (SD), which relies on the ECU having the VE to calculate the amount of...
Seems like a pretty handy tool :)
They need to work on that commercial though...I kept thinking it was a spoof the whole time and I was like "where's the punch line?" :D
So with an 87 TI and 87 TII (both non L-body) there are no differences? The 87 TI supports the 4-wire A.I.S. ?
Hey guys - does anyone know what the differences are between a 87 TI logic module and a 87 TII logic module? Obviously the cal is different, but anything else? Different pin-out, or differences in...
Still looking...
Looking for a working TII Logic Module. I prefer a 1987 but really any would work as long as it's a TII and working.
Thanks.
Another thread with this "debate:"

EDIT: lol, I said this in that older thread: "you probably couldn't go wrong either...
+1 to the Zeitronix.
I have been using it for quite a while. I agree, it sucks about the map sensor, but I just went ahead and got the 3.5 Bar one.
Here's a post in a thread I did regarding my...
No clue, I eye the boost gauge like a hawk and lift off as soon as it moves past 15. For now, I'm running the car with the wastegate hooked to the manifold on my first "boost" switch (normally I...
Nah, I'm running a super-duper secret black ops fast spool option, like full boost at -100 RPMs. ...Yah.
I'm pretty sure they are. There are 4mm to 5mm silicon hoses. Not huge but should be big...
Okay, 87 CSX, stock everything except: ported head, ported exhaust manifold, 3" sv, 3" exhaust (no cat). Big can wastegate. Computer controlled boost. The wastegate is not shimmed or anything...
Well then good, +2 to the TiAL :)
Yah, I read about the modification on Donovan's site. I'm not sure how it affects the BOV though. What does the modification do it besides allow for extra...
What knock off? What style? HKS knock off?
My only concern with the TiAL unit is that it might flow too well - I don't want all my precious charge to go out the BOV and the turbo has to now work harder again to pump the pressure back up :)
Alright, thanks guys! Time for me to go remove the washers I have under the wastegate... :o
Oh, okay - and I apologize, I wasn't really asking the question the right way :) That makes sense - explains why if you unhook the boost hose to the wastegate you spool your turbo into oblivion.
