Congratulations Wayne! I bet you keep that record for a while. I haven't even heard of anyone chasing the record for years.

Man, this thread.. I haven't seen it in months. Here's a small contribution from my collection.

Just finished watching day 1, did anyone else see that chevy venture run a 12.02? Holy crap! Watch out minivan record, there may be a new contender. (however I doubt that thing is factory powered)
Looks like I got the email as well, it was just in my "junk" folder.

How did you receive your invite? I applied and haven't received anything.

I would like to refer everyone to the build page on FB, sorry for not updating this thread in a LONG time, but the format on FB is a little easier and I feel like it's a bit better than a forum.

I'm with Mike, I can't find my slip, I know I scanned it and have the physical slip somewhere, but here you go.

Oh sure, NOW you decide to make more haha.
My van was a plymouth.. but it wasn't fast by today's standards.
Pricing on this particular one is a bit high, but something like this would certainly help eliminate fuel starvation issues. It's a reservoir that fills full of fuel with your tank's pump, then has...
Congrats wheming! That's how ya 60'!

Do you have a time slip? I have a HARD time believing you went sub 1.9's on radials in a van.
Knocked me down another peg. I quit racing minivans because I held the record for so long with no one getting close, now look at this place haha. Well done gentlemen!
One question I do have though...
Would you be interested in a trade of some sort?

So glad to see some godfathers of turbo dodge speed getting back into it! Welcome back Gary!

They have 5 thou clearance as per the directions Cindy at FWD gave me with the pistons.
Thanks for the comments guys! I am hoping this will look decent when I open the hood along with running some...
I don't have everything quite yet to fully assemble the engine, but I do have a severely ported head that came off a ten second charger, and some studs.

Well, it's been quite a while since I took the short block to the machine shop, it's BACK!!! yay!
Here's a shot of it right after I got it home and put it on the stand for assembly:

Really, the secret is in the head flow and proper turbo sizing, rpm and power to weight. I *only* made 308hp on 12.8 psi, the real fun started around 22 psi. Now, I haven't made a trip to the track...
Yes, it's going to be a lot of fun, hopefully you can make it to the track when I bring them down. I'll be posting in this thread when it happens!

When I ran the 10.5 on 12.8 psi, I dynoed it shortly after and managed 308hp/312tq up here, uncorrected. After some timing adjustments and a bit more boost, it made 553hp/502tq I'm excited to see if...
THIS is exactly what I'm wanting to squash. There are too many people that think since there are a very small handful of 11-12 second vans out there, I would like to dispel the myth that it's easy to...
One of these track days, I'll tow the Omni to the track with the van and I'll need a driver for one of the two, perhaps you can take the wheel?
Corby
I will try, there were already some bits missing from this van, but I will try to weight everything I take out from here on out.

Simon, this is going to be a weekend warrior, with the occasional street use.
shadow88, for now I'm running the stock transmission with a moderately built torque converter, when it goes, then I'll...
