Is your oil light coming on at all? My 91 Mini with the 3.0 is doing a similar thing, whenever the engine heats up... And I'm only getting a code 55 as well.. <Stumped>
^ +1... Sounds almost exactly like what my Daytona did when I spun the first bearing in it couple years back... PARK IT, and pull the pan... The more you drive it in this condition, the more likely...

Hey guys... I need to get a Steering Column Cover (the plastic shrouds.. The levers, knobs, and ignition are all intact) for my new (to me) mini. Mine is a '91, but any from 91-95 SHOULD fit ok.......
Well, the local parts stores DIDN'T have the specific 38388 or 38377 pins.... They DID, however, have the ones for the Dodge Ram... Top pin is identical, bottom pin is about 1/4" shorter......
