  1. Re: Hey turbo engine experts.. got a few minutes? (dsm warning)

I'm no engine expert but I recommend running the squirters because the pistons get very hot in a turbo engine that gets driven more then a 1/4 mile at a time. Lack of oil changes/extreme oil temp...

    Re: Cyl. head copying

With all the companies doing CNC heads the problem is not getting the port shape, reinforcements, or chamber mods done it's making a new casting that can handle all those changes without the many...

    Re: Clutch Weights

With all my experience so far it seems to me a heavy car should have a heavier flywheel and a lighter car should get a lighter flywheel. The trick is to find the right weight so you're carrying the...
  4. Re: What is the quickest way to determine if the oil pump shaft broke.

The # is Dura-Bond PDG-26. They are listed as cam bearings btw... They are the only ones to make bearings out of round stock that I found. I use these in V-8's & they hold up very well to radical...

    Re: Clutch Weights

Yup I would get heart burnage if the thrust bearing went south thanks to a 2900 lb pressure plate ! Thanks for the info ! I'm leaning toward a 2200 lb because I do drive it a lot...

    Re: Clutch Weights

It's very custom... I used a Tilton hydraulic throwout bearing for a T-5 and made it fit. The slave cylinder is from a honda civic. it was small and had a big enough piston to dis-engage the clutch...

    Re: Clutch Weights

I already put a hydraulic clutch setup on the car. I'm just worried about killing the thrust bearing with higher pressure on the plate. Looks like I'll be getting something from FWD when the time...

    Re: Steel core plugs

I take the plugs out while the car is running at full operating temp. They actually come out fairly easy at 190 deg. coolant temp. Don't take them all the way out till the coolant is drained or it...

    Re: Clutch Weights

I'm looking for a new clutch for the R/T so LMK how the Feramic holds up. I'm shooting for 11's in a stock full weight car (Spirit) and I already know the clutch will be tricky ! I also don't want it...
  10. Re: What is the quickest way to determine if the oil pump shaft broke.

Yikes ! I own six TM's and don't have aux shaft problems *yet*... Is it because I run 70-75 oil press ? And yes my T-III also runs this much psi with the small aux shaft gear.

    +1 everything...
  11. Re: ARP Head Stud Torque Survey! What torque have you used? What lube? Why?

95 ftlbs. with moly. ARP studs or ARP bolts. The stock bolts reach 95 ftlbs. after the 1/4 turn also btw. I have an Australian made torque wrench that only gets used for critical things.

Re: 1st gear locking up A-413

I forgot almost all the late model trans come with the plastic accumulator pistons... I always put the early aluminum ones in with a spacer instead of putting plugs in the case so the forward...

Re: odd problem with A413 - no reverse

I'll have to edit some pics to show how it's done. It's just welding a small hole shut then using a 1/8" grinder to cut a 1/16" path in the valve casting...

Re: odd problem with A413 - no reverse

Why not just delete reverse boost ? It might slip in reverse if you like to punch it(in reverse) but that's bad for it anyway. It easily gets 400 psi in reverse when the forward psi is 130. (It'll be...

    Sticky: Re: R/T ECU Pinouts

Opppsss I just saw this... You have to move the blue field wire from the Fuel pump/asd circuit to the ign *run* circuit. When the field goes away as the relay unlatches the code pops up... '92's have...

Re: no auto trans writeup in kc?

Lol The car weighed 2450 lbs & had nitrous on it also. There is one hole in the Valvebody & another in the output shaft & you're done. 50 psi lube instead of 15 & planets/bearings that hold together.

Re: 1st gear locking up A-413

Sounds like the rear band is too tight... The governor will need to be cleaned also. If it has a kevlar rear band it might have tore off some of the lining which would explain the crazy adjustment......

    Re: Race A-413 Buildup instructions?

    Re: explain? (number 4 mod)

It's all about delta pressure. The pressure is higher where the coolant enters the block from the water pump. That is how the turbo coolant lines circulate coolant well. The #4 mod should be done so...

    Re: Turbonator SMEC codebase

The '88 SMEC is missing the EMR/mileage counter in the processor. The '88 has "0550VFN" as the last seven of the pn on the chip, The '89 has "0557VFN". (hence the code 62) For the LU/EMR counter...
