    Re: Minivan Howling Noise

    Howdy,

    Yes I did.
I eventually pulled the hood and watched the cooling fans in cold weather (when I encountered the noise).
It turned out to be the cold fan bearings howling while wind...

Re: 1994 LeBaron GTC 3.0 ASD relay location

    Thanks for the reply,

My distribution center has an open socket and the cover shows no ASD. I have pictures of that...confused me too.

My guess was that the SBEC had the ASD function built in,...

1994 LeBaron GTC 3.0 ASD relay location

    Howdy,

Have a no start condition. Car was running the day before, so not a question of whether or not it runs (normally).

    No fuel, no spark.

Rotor is turning (timing belt intact).

Re: Proof torque for 11mm head bolts?

    Howdy,

    Update...

Put a 2.2 together with the polished, captured washer 3.8 Felpro bolts I purchased a few months ago. Had the same problem as the black oxide. I could easily turn at least...

Re: Proof torque for 11mm head bolts?

The FelPro 3.8L bolts I received today have the captured washer/different finish, and are NOT stamped with an 11 on the top of the head like the play doh bolts.
One way I see around the "8 to a...

Re: Proof torque for 11mm head bolts?

ARP studs or even bolts wouldn't make economical sense for stock engines. I have at least 3 more engines to do after this one.

I have both types of torque wrenches. I've been using an old style...

    Another new set of Felpro's,

2 failed to hit 90 lbs...and I'm done with these things. When I torque 'em it feels like Russian roulette with play dough.

Re: Proof torque for 10mm head bolts?

Yes, correct, the bolts never torqued. they just stretched. Never came close...as I applied the 1/4 turn they didn't seem to get tighter, just stayed the same. I then began double checking, removing,...

    Man,

    You guys have great luck.

    Timing Weirdness

    Okay, here we go...

Replaced the head on my 89 Turbo van.
