I had considered that, however, I have used two different t2 style covers,...
I'm at a loss lol...pvc helped, smoke not as bad. However everything felt strong just 2 weeks ago...then i put the new style valve cover, spring a leak at the cam seal, car still ran strong but lost...
Im going to try to go back to the breather set up i had on the old cover...i don't run a factory air box so i just had a pvc hooked to the end of a hose
Ok...so the cam seal fixed the oil hemorrhage...but now it is like the oil system is pressurized. Right before it started smoking real bad i changed from the old valve cover to the new style, and...
that's next on the list
hopefully the turbo isn't going but it wouldn't surprise me...
Also, the smoke seems worst on initial start up, then on decel when I had a similar issue in my old Malibu...
Payment was sent sat night. Asked twice now for confirmation that it was received...no answer...
After searching for this leak all night, and picking brains and posts, it is sounding now like the cam seal behind the pulley is bad...drove the car last night about 60 miles round trip, started out...
Ok so the majority of the pooling under the car is from almost directly under the turbo... any ideas on what I need to look for?
I cant tell, looks like oil tho, I haven't messed with the power steering pump at all tho, so I don't understand why it would leak, but ill try to check it out when I can, at work now so maybe...
ok, but this is a massive oil leak im talking 1 foot puddle under the car...also, brand new gasket 1 piece rubber
also, isn't there an oil return hose over there or is that coolant on that...
This is prolly a pretty dumb question, but does the bolt to the block on the turbo support bracket block oil from exiting the block or am I looking more at a hose not connected properly? I swapped...
Still have the radiator by chance?
Still have this?
Oh ok, makes sense...thanks guys really appreciate all the help this board has been throughout the years! You guys and gals are GREAT!!!
Ok, so I never got far enough into this hobby what's the smec and sbec inn relation to t1 and t2? Lol I've always wondered and never thought to ask or look
I'm just curious if anyone knows...
Are there any connectors on an 89 t2 harness that would contain pins similar enough to the LM pins on the t1 harness to use in my conversion or no? The reason...
Well, its been a few months but I have made quite a bit of progress, everything is now in place and ready to go. I'm only waiting on the 2 pins for the added wiring and ill start putting everything...
Ok...so I have been going about this all wrong...
I started thinking today, and while that really hurt lol, I realized I have all of the parts to the 89 motor this head is off of. "Hey Steve," I...
Thanks for all the info guys! I checked the pump and the port is a no go. I have what looks like it was supposed to be one, but it faces the bumper not the trans...also it is not drilled. I...
Well, consider me educated LOL!! That does make sense now. Could a bad control valve account for intermittent heat? Just curious because my heat will work really well sometimes, and other times...
Good info! I'll have to check that out later today. The hose in question seemed pretty irrelevant due to the fact that it ran straight from the radiator to the heater control valve, and there are...
Well I started working on the car tonight to get ready for the head swap. I am starting by swapping out the original radiator for the radiator/intercooler set up. I have a question...
My original...
Thanks for the info!!:thumb:
The whole head, turbo, downpipe, etc is going on with the 89 head. I never took it apart so I have the valve cover from it too, which should cover that problem. Whats...
So I am planning on swapping an 89 head assembly on to my 87 block, and inter-cooling things soon. I have a couple of questions before I do...
1> Will I need 10 or 11mm head bolts?
2> Will the...
What part of Indiana lol? I am in a situation that might call for desperate measures lol
