To harsh and the clutch packs will come on and cause an overlap condition and burn the frictions up. Like I said the PCS will work on a wot drag setup not normal driving street car.
PCS standalone controller will be needed for all out drag setup. The problem with the 41TE is all the shift timing/fill volume is different on a WOT shift vs partial shift. I talked to PCS engineer...
I would swap VB and retest, inspect the 2nd gear servo bore and piston for any cracks.
I have not logged in forever, I have not tested the pieces yet. I was hoping to test them at IFO the 30th, but cylinder head is not ready.
Need the weak points addressed right below the front planet the transition from the splines to the smooth area for the sun shell they snap there.
Keep the info going. I have no plans of using the rear OEM rear end. I plan to make a custom 300m shaft for the pass-axle, so that its a two design that the cv bolts to.
I'm trying to get my shop built at my house this year, then plan to focus on making a awd setup for the car. I just don't think I can make both happen. I'll at least get the LSD figured out for the 3...
Yea my understanding was he bored the driver side retain due to the larger bearing. Nothing stated about pass side for the awd adapter.
I need to get my hands on an adapter and do some fitting. More than likely will have to reproduce them so I’m not searching junk yards.
If that's all that is needed, then that's the route gary will go. He just wanted a sample piece in his hand. But the 41TE is taller end to end when compared to the 3 speed correct? Does the large...
I don't follow? Why would he make OBX/Quaife parts? He will make anything if the money is right. If I have him make the AWD diff for the 3-speed auto, I will be putting $6000 up. Hes not going to do...
I talked to Gary at Peloquin he’s on board for me sending diff in to make it direct swap for 3 speed. I just wish ptu ratio was a more common ratio.
Now I run the 2.4 block, I thought I read it needed very little clearance on the case.
Well as anything, I always think ahead of me breaking it. The caravan PTU design is a lot simpler, and making a billet bevel gear will be easier. Also making another case is option. What clearance...
Caravan PTU would be my choice
Yea I wouldn’t recommend what I want to do for a street car that’s driven a lot.
Eliminating the VC and running the oem gear there will be a slight bind. Everyone I've talked to says it's not enough to cause any problems. But I rather get it as close as possible, so 3.40 with IRS...
From what I gathered the older PTU is 3.4166 and the rear is 3.45. I have no info on the newer 02+ ratios if there any different. I plan to run a different rear diff any way, IRS 9" has a 3.40 option...
Does anyone know the differences from the original PTU and the 02-04 carvan PTU? I know the pacifica differences.
Quick update, I should have all the pieces in the next week or so. Already test fitted into a brand new mopar unit at the machine shop, I'm going to disassemble my current unit and see if I get same...
What are you talking about not possible???? You don’t see me posting numbers at one inch. My crane 24’s are .453 lift, ,450 is a real number. 👀
I know flow numbers are just a tool to see if what you changed made improvements. But my exhaust flows 237@.450 lift and intake 302@.450. I've never looked at stock k numbers. But I know cnc k's...
Oh ok, I dont want to change bottom ends or auto transmission. I'm happy with 2.4 aluminum long rod setup, just want to get a better port design, no more lifters, and thicker deck to prevent flex.
I've talk to pro billet about doing heads, around $3500-$4000 per head min 4. But I want to work with someone in the US. If we go with a billet head, hydraulic lifters are going out the window. There...
