Depending on how ported the head is, it may still be lean up top on a stock cal.
So the base setting on the distributor is above what you can see in the timing window? And you can't bring it down enough to see it? You are using a newer style distributor with the short cap, right?...
The one I had in the Lebaron had nothing, was in there for 4 years or so daily driving year round, no problems.

Yeap, map and pumping efficiency tables are the main things. The rest is fine tuning.
