The only difference is the 3-4 fork and the 'black' pad (3-4 & 5th fork) from the 555/520 fits right in there without any ill effects.

The 'black' pad from the older transmissions fits there.
Nice to share huh ? Like the equal length header still under 'testing' right ?
Some doubt as to how well they would withstand daily usage yes... Car makers dont test something once on a 1/4 mile track and call it proven.
Still rocking solid. Pulled the shifter housing to inspect and drain the oil to switch back to 5w30 for the warmer weather. Only see the front 3-4 fork pad but even it looks excellent, not noticeably...
I have had mine going now for a couple thousand miles of daily driving in moderate to heavy traffic, so lots of shifting going on. So far its been going well. If the shifter housing wasnt such a PITA...
my reservations towards these were greatly diminished once I saw the actual product/material in my hand. Bronze/brass just evokes a soft material that wouldnt last, this alloy is nothing like that....
Got mine today... HOT DAMN!!!!! :hail: anyone who didnt get a set of these, your going to regret it when you need them. Finer fit and craftsmanship than the oem parts by a MILE.
install, show no mercy and report the findings.
Yeah I didnt either. I guess from the camera flash/light reflection it looked like it was.
Funds are in the mail tomorrow :)
Kinda hard to tell from the picture but are/did you mill out the center of the locating 'nib' so its two separate bars like the original ?
From all the core transmissions you dont have a later 3-4 fork ?
post #17 on the first page. The 3-4 fork is wider because of the different pad so you cant use the 91+ 3-4 pad on a 90 only fork, they will fall off in short time from normal usage. The 3-4 fork...

The 523 and 543 use the same forks and pads as the 568 so yes these will work for them.
These will not work in the 520 or 555 as those use a thinner width pad on all positions.
[/URL]I fitted a 520/555 black fork pad into the 3rd position. in this case since I had a 90 only 3-4 fork to work with I also used the black pads since they are almost the same thing as the 90 only...
I'll take 2 of the 3-4 pads as well.
5 of the 1-2-5's and 2 of the 3-4's. The 5th gear fork doesnt really take to adding the 3rd pad very well (its hardened machined steel vs softer cast like the other two). Also though make sure you...

Is this a one and done offer or is there ever the potential for this to happen again in the future if the volume/interest is there ?
