I have a 9 year project of an '85 Shelby charger that I have built primarily as an autocross car. Last year was the first year out with it and I only made three or four races. I'm still sorting out...
Like it says, the tach and fuel guage aren't working on my 85 SC. After a 7 year build, this is one of the last issues. I don't know if it was working before I did my work on it or not. I have...
Let me share just one of the weird stories about this restoration as it seems I frightened my car into submission and it fixed the problem itself. I relented and finally decided that the only way to...
Do you get to it with a stew driver from the front or from beneath. That thought makes me cringe as it's all new paint. I was to the point yesterday of cutting a hole in the hood with a Zeus wheel...
I'll try again. The cable moves fine on the cabin end, which leaves me to believe it came unhooked under the hood. I tried to reach the latch from beneath but my intercooler is taking up all of the...
Surely I'm not the only one who has had this happen. Pull the hood release on the Shelby charger and it won't pop open. Now how in the world do I release it?
I just ordered one from TU last week... Even did a search on here to see if there were any advertised recently. Just my luck!
Got my kit last week and got it on the head last night. Thanks a bunch.
Thanks for the input guys. I had stopped after I had cleaned up the bottom and polished it a bit. Seemed like a lot of material to cut out and the bottom of the ports matched anyway.
I decided to gasket match my head and my manifolds and match my turbo to exhaust manifold while my head was off. Using the felpro intake/exhaust gasket, the intake opening are WAY bigger than the...
You're killing me. I just spent at least that much on a 2.2.
So much for debuting it at sdac... Lol
It started! Changed the Hall effect, cap, and rotor and got it to fire. Don't know why it was powering the z1 with a bad Hall effect but it was. Thanks for all the help guys.
I've got pressure at the fuel rail. I don't know how much. I haven't checked it because it is a brand new walbro 255. I have power everywhere I'm supposed to supposedly, just no fire at the coil. I...
Wasn't the coil either...
Everything appears to be coming on as its supposed to other than the coil firing. I'm going to change the coil and see if that solves it.
As far as I know all the grounds are connected. Fuel pump primes and there is power on z1 with the key in start position. I don't have fire at the coil though. I've got one of the big yellow msd's...
It is priming the pump. I can hear it click when I unplug the Hall effect wires also.
I have power when the key is in the start position only. In the on position there is no power on the z1.
I've got power at the Z1 now when the key is in start position. I'm guessing that's right. Still no fire. I'm thinking the coil. I'm running the distributor, cap and Hall effect from the '88 engine....
My 85 Shelby charger is being difficult. A little background... I installed an 88 t2 engine, did the necessary wiring. Using an '87 stage V logic module. Added the under hood map and moved the wires...
Got the evaporator core yesterday. This guy rocks as a seller and free bump!
Thought I would add my experience here also. I decided to change the color of my plastic interior panels to the darker gray of my shelby charger's dash. I found that SEM 17013, midnight black, is a...
Could I get a shipping quote on the condenser to 42001?
I finally narrowed it down to the proprtioning valve. I took it out and took it apart and it was plugged. Just so happens, a bore cleaner for a 45 auto fits right in there. I've got fluid now at...
