    Re: My 1988 Voyager 3.0

The only time I've ever had that happen was when I was low on coolant the engine will actually get hot but if it's low enough it won't register on the gauge. Maybe you have an air bubble. Is the...

    Re: My 1988 Voyager 3.0

Looks great! Glad to hear you got it figured out. Just out of curiosity, what was causing the no start issue?

I can't see from the pics but does your van still have the clip that holds the upper...

    Re: My 1988 Voyager 3.0

This is true. I stated this in post #33. The haynes manual shows a picture of this and you can see it on the inside of the cap. Normally the caps have numbers on top labeling the terminals though.

    Re: My 1988 Voyager 3.0

Sounds like you have it under control. If the distributor is one tooth off it will act just as you are describing. It will tease you but won't stay running. Like I said in my last post check the...

    Re: My 1988 Voyager 3.0

Inside the transmission there is a cam that the neutral safety switch rides on. There is a divot in the cam to allow the switch(which is an NC type switch) to pop out when the reverse gear is...

    Re: My 1988 Voyager 3.0

    Does the fuel pump prime?

The starter relay is on the drivers side fender. I can see from the pictures that your relay setup is slightly different than mine so I'm not sure which one it is. It...

Just out of curiosity, what is different about the new fan that makes it hit?

    Re: My 1988 Voyager 3.0

My van originally had A/C but I removed it. The condenser was under the radiator support(grille must be removed to access it) and the fan was mounted to the inside of the radiator support(as in the...

    Re: My 1988 Voyager 3.0

The weight of the drivetrain should also be a consideration. A 5-speed 4cyl set up is going to be at least 100lbs lighter than a 3l with an auto.

Mine would hit the trans pan or the k-frame. I...

    Re: My 1988 Voyager 3.0

To seal the plenum halves, I have used anaerobic sealer, red RTV silicone and ultra black RTV silicone successfully. The silicone being the messiest and least aesthetically pleasing. As long as you...

    Re: My 1988 Voyager 3.0

Just cutting out the big tube in the middle does a lot of good. The floor of the plenum where it turns into the lower manifold could use some radiusing also.

You can also combine the top half of...

Looks nice so far! Keep up the good work and be sure to take lots of pics! Do you plan on porting the old style big plenum?
