Could try a syclone turbine housing. It uses a t3 inlet, four bolt mitsu outlet and should fit your 16g as long as it's not a reverse rotation turbo.

Low on oil? 5th is the furthest away from fresh oil, and gets the least, so it's the most prone to damage from low oil. It's a common issue, you'll see lots of trans that come in with damaged 5th's.
The post from boostedmopar is pretty much word for word what I had here. Not sure where the old articles I had up went to.
On the topic of odd swaps, you could easily put an early mainshaft and...
Speed rings are the same. Across all models, 3/4 are the same 87-93 and 1/2 are the same 87-88 and 89-93. Just make sure the 89' kit really includes the 89+ parts. I'm honestly surprised you even...
I would look myself, but I don't really do car stuff anymore, plus my dads garage is in disarray while we do the finish work on his new addition.
I would. Not necessary though. If you used the...
Related to the unique 90' only 1/2 shift fork/pad/slider assy only, the gear makes no difference. The 90' pads are smaller than the 91+ and chryco upgrades them to a much beefier setup in 91 (the pad...
I mentioned last night in a PM to James that it may be possible to use the 523/568 slider on the early hub to allow use of a early shaft in a 523/568. I don't know for sure, but it is a possibility. ...
If anyone has interest in a 520\555 crashbox, feel free to pm Cliff or myself. We'd be more than happy to do a few more, we might even be able to build a 4spd version of there was interest.
I built that GB to put into my hybrid glh, when I canned the project it sat around till Genesky volunteered to try it out. I don't know the eventual cause of the diff failure, but it wasn't running...
Factory service manual, there is no substitute.
Much stronger. A good alternative to a 568 gearset.
Really? I've seen plenty of 525/520/early 523 gearsets chewed up and destroyed. Don't fool yourself, start putting some power down and those...
Yes. The hub will work fine. A 523's, 568's and 89' 555's used three piece 1/2 synchro assemblies. The slider should be different though, as well as the shift forks. 90 used it's own shift pads vs...
FSM is always your friend. Copies pop up all the time, so pic one up when you get a chance. 1990 is the best year, it shows a 525 (l-body) and a 523/568. You can rebuild any 5spd from that book. Use...
Yes. Large and small are from Isuzu NPR box trucks.
Bump for photo's and dimensions.
I've got a few intercoolers kicking around from the old days and I'd like to see them go. Two of the larges are in good shape, one is dinged on the bottom a bit. The small is also in good shape.
...
You could certainly use the 523 sliders to make a 523/568 out of a 89' 555.
Pics could/would be good. I'm pretty much out of cars at this point. I still have my srt, but I think it will be going...
555 cases are all the same. 87/88 gearset will fit just fine in an 89 case.
Also, the 89 555 and 90 568 DO have the same gearset. The shaft is the same, save for the bushing required to use the...
523, coarse tooth gearset, 3.77 f/d
First way.
If it was scored, definitely a good call to replace. It'd be hard to put down every bit of info, but if you've got any questions feel free to ask. I'm not gonna be active like i was, checking every...
Been a busy year or so. Lots of OT at work, plus a rambunctious three year old. I've also lost interest in the cars for a while, bought a buell last spring and have been enjoying that.
Shim is under the bearing race. IDK if the baffle is still available from the dealer or NS1, but it should be an easy find. I find it easier to remove the seals while the retainers are still...
Too late for you, but for future reference it's not necessary to replace the bushing used on the 523/543/568 unless there is damage to it. That part is harder than the shaft/bearing and is designed...
Covered this with Carlos (lotsaboost) over on TD a while back. Short and sweet is that you can use an srt-4 clutch package or a TD package interchangeably, behind a 2.2 or a 2.4 with either a large...
