    SON OF A....#@$%@#$%

Well, I'm glad someone finally got this done to one of our trannies! I've been wanting to do it for a long time, but no vendors seemed interested (dunno how Liberty was...

    Re: BadAss SRT-Z - 2.4L / A568 - Update!!!

You can get away with this as long as the suspension works in such a way that the angle on the joints and shaft aren't all whacky. Most people don't get that right (and it's not easy with things...

Is the engine/tranny mounted solid? Are you still using the bobble strut bracket? Is that mount solid with no bushings?

Also, by strengthening the main case you are keeping the gear mesh more in check. part of the whole failure is the gears pushing away from each other and there are multiple components to the...

    Re: BadAss SRT-Z - 2.4L / A568 - Update!!!

The area he wants to fill is the area that has more bracing on the older cases.

What about an "L" shaped type of bracket that could connect the diff housing to the main body part of the case?

    Re: BadAss SRT-Z - 2.4L / A568 - Update!!!

I have thought about wrapping a case with composite as well. Unfortunately a virgin case I think would be needed as all of the grease and oil that has wicked its way into the pores of the metal can't...

    Re: BadAss SRT-Z - 2.4L / A568 - Update!!!

Well, you could add in the extra ribbing, but welding on the case is going to present several issues. I've been a big fan of building an "exoskeleton" cage, type bracing system for the case.

    Re: BadAss SRT-Z - 2.4L / A568 - Update!!!

The point would be that you wouldn't ever get to the overheating point of either friction material. It looks to me that the clutch was slipped a LOT to make the car driveable and probably to soften...

    Re: BadAss SRT-Z - 2.4L / A568 - Update!!!

OUCH!! That clutch is FRIED!! I think you might benefit from running one of the discs with a different friction material on it. It could improve the clutch engagement and make it easier to drive...

OK, so now the plug attachments work, but the other ones don't. I've tried on 2 phones and 2 computers.

That #3 plug doesn't look right. The spark is traveling, so maybe the gaps are still too...

    Re: BadAss SRT-Z - 2.4L / A568 - Update!!!

I'm with you, Bryan! Well, seeing the powder and where it's at it looks like those plugs were bad out of the box. It's not all that common (and even less so with NGK), but it happens. I'd try a...

JT, do you use dielectric grease on your plug boots? If not, I'd give that a try.

It is totally possible to get bad batches of plugs. I've seen it happen a few times (Champions every time). I...

I agree that case flex is probably a large factor in some of the failures we have seen. I though Reeves determined that he had a bearing lock up and that is what caused the mass destruction we saw?...

    Re: BadAss SRT-Z - 2.4L / A568 - Update!!!

I only ever really used my clutch on my bike when I was starting from a dead stop, in traffic, or I knew that a botched downshift would be a bad thing. Other than that, I just blipped the throttle...
