That's a good question. It happens to me also.

    Re: Csx vnt #497

I finished off a lot of maintenance yesterday. I replaced both rear wheel bearings, and the shocks. That was fun due to the rust. I sprayed everything very well with Fluid Film. I replaced the...

    Electronics Re: WTB: 87 LMs

I have three on the way now. I'll post back up the next time I need some. I've lost a lot of LMs over the last couple years, so it may not be long...

Re: 89 Turbo Van Bad HEP?

It was suggested to me that my alt might have been failing and a bad diode could have allowed a little AC current out of the alt which temporarily freaked out the computer. I'm not good enough to...

Re: 91 shadow 5M, what trans?

I've heard, but never known it confirmed that some or perhaps all of the hi torque option cars received the 568. Any non ICed turbo car I've ever found in the yard was a 523 or 520. The 91 Daytona I...

    Electronics Re: WTB: 87 LMs

I'll be using a combination of fluid film and used motor oil. This thing is pretty rough, so I'll do the best I can with it. There isn't much that's not spliced in the original brake and fuel lines...

Re: 89 Turbo Van Bad HEP?

If you have access to an oscilloscope, that would be ideal. You can take a reading right off of the alt.

    Electronics Re: WTB: 87 LMs

I don't know what is killing them. I pulled the good one I had out of the car and tried it in Joy's Daytona and it wouldn't work. It wouldn't work when I put it back into the NYer either. Either chip...

    Electronics WTB: 87 LMs

I need some 87 LMs. My last good one died a couple days ago and I need to get my winter beater up and running. Let me know what you have. I'll be socketing it, so I don't care which 87 LM it is, but...

Re: 89 Turbo Van Bad HEP?

I had a code 54 one time which would cause the car to cut out. The root problem ended up being a bad alternator which was on the way out. Low probability, but it did happen to me. I chased it until...

Re: 89 Turbo Van Bad HEP?

A Vigo stated, that should be the ASD relay. That would certainly cause the problem you describe.

Re: 89 Turbo Van Bad HEP?

11 is no signal ever seen from the HEP by the computer. You must have reset your computer to get that.

I've heard so many conflicting stories on the HEPs over the years, I don't know what to make...

Re: Tilt steering column bent while driving?!

The column interchange among these cars can be frustrating to say the least. I have made some things work, but that has caused me great frustration in other areas. I actually helped to put a manual...

Re: 89 Turbo Van Bad HEP?

Ar you sure it was a code 3? That's strange to say the least. Is it a stock computer? It does sound like a HEP or ground problem.

Re: Shift Cables for P body/A523

That won't be an issue. A ton of the Ebay short throw shifters for the Neons have the stud on the wrong side, which is our proper side.

Re: Knowledge Center Update - Brainstorm Thread

I would add that being easily searchable is key too. There was way too much stuff hidden in the old one, although that could be due to how it was configured and layered with the old vs. new stuff.

Re: 3D printing cylinder heads ???

That's a good question. I've mainly gone off of Todd's statements about the flow. I don't recall numbers.

Re: 3D printing cylinder heads ???

No doubt. I would rather go with a Masi head than a custom made cyl. head for just that reason.

Re: 3D printing cylinder heads ???

The stock head on the Maserati TC with the 16V engine allegedly flows more than ported TIII heads. It is also cam on bucket, so say goodbye to lifter problems. Need to turn crazy high RPM? OK, that's...

For all that work, just run a Masi head and be done with it.
