Re: "Wide" tires on a Spirit

RPF1s in a 17 are the way to go. They offer the most options, but you might have to swap your bolt pattern for some of them.

Re: Neon SRT4 front brakes on a 91 Spirit RT

RPF1s or bust if going with bigger than 11" brakes in my opinion.

Re: Today's best tune up parts?

FWIW, I believe I just saw a post by Reeves on The Face Book in which he stated he runs NGK BR8ES plugs in all of his 2.2/2.5 cars.

Great to hear that it's running again Fleck. That is going to be a very cool ride when it's fully on the road.

I recommend that method highly. It's a great way to set your pumping efficiency table. Just make sure you have the lowest boost possible, preferably with the WG flapper removed from the WG itself. If...

You really shouldn't see much of a fluctuation at WOT. It should be very repeatable. Do you drag the brakes while at WOT to stay at a set RPM for a time, and then take your readings?

Are you looking at the "Cal Settings" tab? I don't believe that does anything other than perhaps set up the cal so a scanner can read it? It's been a long time, but I generally don't look in that tab...

You need to open up the 2.2 TII cal in MP tune. Are you using the Turbonator stuff? If so, it comes with pretty much all the combinations. It should be pretty easy for a SMEC cal to get everything...

    Re: AC How To?

Well, I thought I didn't get something sealed up the last time I filled the van with refrigerant. However, the pressure was approximately 85PSI at 80* so I don't think that's it. The compressor won't...

Re: Today's best tune up parts?

I'm very happy with the Taylor wires I picked up last fall. They're the stock style and I got a great deal on them.

Re: Today's best tune up parts?

And here I thought platinum plugs were not the way to go at all. Interesting. I wonder if the iridium jobs out there are better? Frankly, I've always been able to get a crazy amount of use from the...

Re: Today's best tune up parts?

Not yet. I was hoping there would be some clear cut winners. Especially in the cap and rotor dept. There isn't much price difference on Rockauto, but I have no idea which ones are actually good....

    Re: Chinese Heads

I had some minor problems with the valve seals, but they've stayed in place once I replaced them. I guess it's been a while since I've checked that though.
  17. Re: Where are you purchasing turbo rebuild kits from?

I've heard that TEC ripped off a bunch of people on S60 VNT turbos back when. I don't know the whole story, but I've heard just that much many times. I'm sure there are quite a few people who weren't...
  18. Re: Where are you purchasing turbo rebuild kits from?

While we're a pretty handy group as a whole, I bet enough guys would mess it up and send it in afterward that I'm surprised they don't offer a kit.
  19. Re: Where are you purchasing turbo rebuild kits from?

I recently used the G-Pop Shop and was very pleased with the service. It was my first turbo rebuild, but the components seemed nice. They were very much on par with the turbo I pulled apart. It was...

    Re: The Neon thread!

My 95 Neon seems pretty gutless, and I believe it still has a cat on it. I'd just as soon remove it and go on with my life. Does anyone know what size the pipe is in there so I can just order stuff...

I can't wait to hear your report on that. I had always planned on installing one under the core support, but I have decided to do a CF piece instead. It is on my "someday" list though so I'll have to...

Do you run the stock heat range NGKs, or a range cooler? It's amazing the difference in what guys will run IMO.

    Today's best tune up parts?

I would like to avoid cheap chinese crap being passed off as decent parts. I did a search, but it's amazing how little the stock search on here turned up in regard to recent tune ups.

    What cap,...
