Re: 1989 Chrysler TC Low Boost Issues

Check the turbo for excessive play & inspect it for wheel to housing contact, though you'd probably hear that. Also check exhaust for restriction after turbo (maybe take pipe loose before the...

Re: 90' shadow vnt wont start below freezing

Check connector at the computer.. might be connector pins losing contact.. my Jeep is the Ignition switch it turns out. (Flaky contacts in switch, still turned over but wouldn't hit until the key is...

Re: 90' shadow vnt wont start below freezing

Oddly enough, my Jeep Cherokee is doing the same thing. Unfortunately my engine light burned out and haven't replaced it yet, but it's getting power to the pcm but seems like it's flooding trying to...

Re: Will a SBEC2 work with a SBEC harness?

Re: Will a SBEC2 work with a SBEC harness?

I can get you the diagrams from Mitchell, not sure if it'll have a pinout like the jeep fsms do, but it'll have all the ecm wiring on one or two pages.
  9. Re: The inaccuracy of HEP and distributor is causing you to lose power.

Sure you would have to but that would be simple enough.. just make a bracket that comes off the valve cover bolts or off the block somewhere. Likely not worthwhile unless you are having trouble...
  10. Re: The inaccuracy of HEP and distributor is causing you to lose power.

Umm.. rethink that a moment.. the rotor and cap is a rotary switch essentially. It does not affect timing more than a few picoseconds as long as the rotor is pointed at the terminal within several...

    Re: SBEC Chip source?

I'd have to look at the pin out of the Jeep ECM to see if it would work with the TM stuff.. I think some pins would be different. (Jeep lacks baro read solenoid and some other little stuff that may...

    Re: SBEC Chip source?

Yes there's lots of dodgy remarked chips on the Chinese market. Be careful. There are other sbec with a 27c256 that can be moded to take another EEPROM with minimal work. (At least Jeep ECM were set...

    Re: Calling all electronic geeks

no you can't base the cam signal off of the crankshaft because it rotates at half the speed of the crank and cannot differentiate between TDC on 1/3 vs 4/2. the portion of the cam sensor that...

    Re: Calling all electronic geeks

It should be easy to make a encoder for the crank, and then make a encoder for the cam.. you'd need to keep the cam sensor to determine which injectors to fire (sequential).. if you don't, it'd still...

    Re: Calling all electronic geeks

It should be possible to make a trigger wheel to create a HEP signal.. I say that but i haven't seen a HEP encoder wheel. Still would need a sensor/encoder on the cam though for injection if it's...

Not quite a 4.0 missing 2 cylinders. It's actually the same 2.5 as used in some Dakota trucks.

No I was working on a cal for a 356 but code is nearly identical, just locations changed a little bit and it uses the o2

Interesting fact: the 356 cal has a config switch for 4/6 cylinder in code.
