Re: TU and F4 Camshaft Follow-on Discussion

This is helpful. Some of the discussion in this thread involved the idea that you had to degree the cam yourself because you couldn't trust the published numbers. I installed my cam straight up...

Re: TU and F4 Camshaft Follow-on Discussion

For those who have installed these cams, considering they are both ground by Colt, how has the centerline been working out?

Re: TU and F4 Camshaft Follow-on Discussion

Good work, sir. Is the cam grinder Colt by any chance? The irony would be almost too much to handle.

But, Good Lord knows it has taken us plenty of time to get there. I think we're finally...

    Re: dremel/die grinder recommendations

I burned through a few Dremels before I gave up on them. I wasn't even doing anything difficult. I bought a Rotozip but never really tried it out.

Re: TU and F4 Camshaft Follow-on Discussion

If you have a friend at Colt, can you ask them the specs on the F4 "billet" cam? They are who make it. At least that is what I was told while I waited 1 milliondy months for mine to come in.

Re: TU and F4 Camshaft Follow-on Discussion

I've degreed one cam ever and it was a Voodoo 60303 cam in a '68 440. And it was dead nuts on. I had the good fortune of having a good teacher. I couldn't do it again on my own without help. But,...

Re: TU and F4 Camshaft Follow-on Discussion

Yes, offset keys or adjustable cam gear. This is the answer as to why most are never degreed. Slap it all together with the factory parts, turn the key, drive. Ma Mopar never really meant for these...
  9. Re: 86 2.2 turbo laser, thinking about putting back together... any fun bits I should

I know roughly where Medora is located. I used to frequently drive between Indy and Corydon and would often use highway 135 and US 50 between Seymore and Corydon just to get out of the mess of I-65....

Simon, you do know you are one that helped to break the Gospel. Don't you? I know people who made arguments IRL at the risk of physical violence while you were on the opposite side of the continent...

  12. Re: 86 2.2 turbo laser, thinking about putting back together... any fun bits I should

A Hoosier! Where are you in Indiana? I grew up in Corydon for the first 18 years (or so) of my life.

Parts are hard to find. I hate to be the one who says it. It has the "suck through" design and...

Re: TU and F4 Camshaft Follow-on Discussion

For any of you that are new, go read what Frank said early in this thread. This thread has a real tinge of the bad ole' days. And you can still read between the lines and see plenty of...
  14. Re: Thoughts on tire size for 16" pumpers on '86 Daytona

I appreciate the offer, but I think I've got this sorted out.
  15. Re: Thoughts on tire size for 16" pumpers on '86 Daytona

Simon, I'm finally getting around to getting tires on the Pumpers I bought from you. I still haven't tried to figure out which one is bent. Things have been sssslllllooooowwwwww.
  16. Re: Thoughts on tire size for 16" pumpers on '86 Daytona

Pumpers clearly aren't ideal either. And, technically, not correct for the car if you are concerned about year correctness (though I will keep the Crabs with the car if/when I sell it). But _I_ like...
  17. Re: Thoughts on tire size for 16" pumpers on '86 Daytona

Thanks y'all. The 205/50R16 is looking pretty good at this point. Now to pick the best 4 Pumpers and get some tires.

    Probably this:...
  18. Re: Thoughts on tire size for 16" pumpers on '86 Daytona

The car will be lowered compared to stock. It now has fully adjustable suspension (coil overs front and rear, adjustable shocks, and adjustable ride height). This is all good info.

    Yes, the...
  19. Thoughts on tire size for 16" pumpers on '86 Daytona

I'm putting a set of 16" Pumpers on my '86 Daytona to replace the factory crabs. There car isn't here in front of me and I don't exactly remember the tire size. This car has the C/S package and the...

Re: Raffle engine into 1986 factory Turbo wagon

You should be able to look up the rate based upon the part number. The flow rate is different at different pressures. So, 52pph doesn't mean that much if you don't know the base pressure.

  25. Re: Pads/Rotor options for 89' 4 wheel disc set up?

I ran Porterfield on my '86 Daytona. They are really good to work with. Call them and tell them what you want. They will help you out.
