Re: Upgrading 87 CSX LM/PM to SBEC

I have an extra SEFI injector harness complete with knock sensor connector. I used Ford injector plugs on mine because I have a load of them.
  2. Re: Minivan fuel issues (tank baffles/ jet pump/reservoir /94 style pump hanger walbr

That is essentially what I was talking about, a way to make sure the pump could draw fuel under hard acceleration, nicely done solution!

Re: Upgrading 87 CSX LM/PM to SBEC

Miles, that is what I did on mine, hardest part is finding an SBEC that can be reworked as 1990-91 are SBEC-1 and they are either VNT, 2.5TI or TIII in those years.
  5. Re: Gauging interest in a new high capacity LM/SMEC/SBEC/SBEC2 flash module

I am trying to remember the file sizes on the EEC-V, I am thinking it is a 2 bank 128K but they may 256K each.

  8. Re: Gauging interest in a new high capacity LM/SMEC/SBEC/SBEC2 flash module

That was the total time from getting out the laptop and cable, booting up the computer, hooking everything up then flash the EEC and do a hard reset on it by killing the KAM (Keep Alive Memory)...

    Electronics Re: WTB: 87 LMs

I remember that from my Turbo II LM and was told by the man who gave it to me that they were peculiar to the TII engines (he referred to it as "Daytona Electronics".

Not that I know of, since they seem to be like the SCC and PM connectors, they are molded in two pieces that snap together. Best solution I have had was salvage good ones with enough wire to splice...

    Re: 85 L-body Connector ID

I have a piece I cut off of a 1991 Shadow 2.5L T1 the 3 and 4 pin plugs for the throttle body (TPS & AIS), if you have a good picture of the mating plug/socket I have a load of spare bits including...

    Electronics Re: WTB: 87 LMs

Could it just be 32 year old electronics? The Ford sites, particularly the truck groups are full of stories of failed 20+ year old EECs. I had one on my Taurus behave like a Buddist Monk in Vietnam...

    Re: 85 L-body Connector ID

If you can't sort them out I still have my 1985 FSM set and can look in them.
  15. Re: Gauging interest in a new high capacity LM/SMEC/SBEC/SBEC2 flash module

Ok, 20-21 volts sounds similar to what Ford uses on the EEC-V systems. They need 18V applied to pin #13 of the 104 pin plug then use the paired data lines for comm with the unit. Takes me around 15...

Re: 87 csx Lm pinouts needed

I do have a 1987 FSM set and can scan what you need, posting it on here might be an issue as the scans are PDF format.
  17. Re: Different part numbers the SBEC2 PCB board

Is the board number readable without destroying the SBEC?
  18. Re: There are two very different SBEC2 PCB---Wow are they different

Miles, et al, I wonder if the change is also where the speed control input switches changed. From what I have found, the first batch of steering wheel control switch vehicles had a latching...

Re: Tilt steering column bent while driving?!

Sounds good! Glad it's fixed, yes, the cruise control stalk is much beefier, still plastic, but less likely to bend or break.

Re: 89 Turbo Van Bad HEP?

Ok, if you look at the relay plug you will see a pin arrangement of pins like the picture, actual wiring to the relay may reverse the coil leads (85 & 86). Jump 30 to 87 to power the injectors, coil...

When I had that on my T2 Lebaron it was apparently a bad SBEC. Question, shouldnt a 1989 be a SMEC?
