Wishing you and the van the best!
I thought somebody got one a few months ago and threw it in due to persistent axles seal leaks? Never saw an update on it, though?
Just from the pictures and the description, I honestly don't think so. Both materials would expand about the same and because of the mode of failure it might lock it together worse.
Personally I...
Looks like it started to strip the splines out in the case as well, so basically it twisted together.
Wayne, there's a special CV removal tool used for cars that have circlips on the CV axle stubs. It looks like a flat crowfoot that screws to the end of a slide hammer. Auto parts stores rent them...
Yeah, probably not that much inertia considering diameter, like you said.
I might be being a bit paranoid, but after my experiences I just don't tempt fate. That experience is also what has driven me away from UDP's. Unless it's a "fun" car that doesn't get driven...
I also run a PC680. Only issue I have ever found with it is that it has NO reserve! I don't even roll the electric windows up without starting the car because of how little reserve there is in that...
Nice! Sometimes if you can find a "HD" or "towing package" radiator they will be larger or be thicker (more cores).
SWEET! Congrats on the new record!!! :thumb: Gus is smiling! :D
Wow! Low 13's @ low 100mph's with ~2 second 60' times...that's getting it done! I would either try to make sure the engine will live with the boost creep and let it eat or you could go the EWG. That...
She sounds so good! Man, it doesn't even have the typical "clatter" under the hood while it's running...from the injectors or lifters or anything! That's impressive for sure! :thumb:
Ah!!! I have a friend that added an Audiovox Cruise system to his motorcycle. It's pretty cool.
SWEET!
Question: what is that black cannister on the passenger side up near the radiator support? It looks like a cruise control servo, but I thought those were on the driver's side?
I've had that issue with the nut and washer coming off. I ended up getting some Poly Bushings alternator bushings and using a nylon lock nut on it. Solved the problem. Now I need to modify the...
I'd have to take a look at it, but I wonder if changing the tip angle would help with the cavitation. Let's face it, the impeller on these pumps isn't exactly *high tech* by pumping standards.
You might want to get a hold of Pat Culkin. He might be able to give you a bit more insight on this. I'm *pretty* sure that the Ed Peters tapes refer to doing this to either pump, but I haven't...
Humidity will affect cooling a bit, but not too much. I'd almost think cooling might be better because water transfers heat better than air, so humidity might actually help the cooling system work...
Man, that housing looks beat up on the o-ring sealing surface for the pump body. I'd stick that thing on a belt sander or something to try and help make the sealing surface better.
Well...I got some of it!! :thumb:
Holy cow I never realized how many wire nuts he used!! LOL I LOVE the golf-T!!
BTW, you never said what was different from the 2003 photo you posted. I'm curious!
:( Can't watch the video!
Use a brass drift and knock it sideways, then yank it out with needlenose pliers or needlenose Visegrips.
:( Sorry to hear that. Something else I've heard people having issues with is an oil galley plug that is behind the flywheel. I'd be sure the check that and make sure that isn't the true culprit of...
