I've done a little soldering before, but mostly on wires. Is a hot air setup better than an iron for this? it looked like it on the videos I watched.

So you just hold the iron against the pin that sticks out until you see the solder turn to fluid again? And then add a dab?
I'm assuming the cheap soldering irons from the parts stores are good enough for this work? Seems like I used one on the tach board to try reflowing it, but I dunno how good I did. tach still works...
The dash lights quit in my '91, wonder if it has anything to do with this stuff. I already changed the BCM, and I have a new switch to try. I was working on something to do with them and unplugged...
How do you reflow them, exactly?
