Within the next two weeks I'll be parting out my daughter's '91 Shadow convertible TBI. Drivetrain and grill are already spoken for. Top is in good shape other than a 1" tear. Many good convertible...
Could be blowing out the spark. Try running a tighter gap on the plugs and see what happens.
What part of Iowa are you in? I could get you a pretty nice set of crab wheels and a spoiler. Located in Lorimor, IA.
I haven't done a Daytona but it's probably like the other Dodges. Yes the steering column needs dropped down and the dash pulled out of the way.
I've tried it myself and they also did it on mythbusters, that myth was busted big time.
I'd recommend grabbing a throttle body off a car at the yard, there's plenty of them out there.
Working on making a custom intercooler for my Spirit out of 2 turbo coupe coolers. There is a local shop that could do the work for me but would like to keep the price reasonable.
I am looking to...
What are your plugs gapped at? If this is just happening under boost you could be blowing out the spark.
I just read your other thread. I had an issue like that with my son's Shadow(blow through)...
Well I ran about half a gallon of water down the throttle body while keeping it running. I don't think there's any carbon left, cat was cherry red...lol. I still have the miss at idle. Listened with...
Ben, Recieved the traveler today. Thanks again! The was the easy part, now I just have to figure how I'm going to get it hooked up in my Spirit...lol.
I ran some water through last night with no results but I could try it some more.
I have an actual stethoscope. I'll listen to it and see what I come up with.
I don't know the history on the car....
Jason, recieved the smec yesterday. Thanks again!
Well the cam and ignition timing were perfect and the pcv valve was good. The compression test pointed out my problem 150-90-95-145. I put a squirt of oil in the 90psi hole and boosted to 180. Looks...
Yes the timing would be off. I'm just wondering about the cam profile. I accidentally stuck a slider cam on a roller setup before and I don't think the valves were completely closing. I'm wondering...
I'm pretty sure the cam timing was dead on, spark timing is right on 12. Just haven't run compression test yet.
The roller cam question was more "If someone else put a roller cam in with sliders...
Daughter's 87 LeBaron 2.5 tbi. Bought the car with a head gasket issue but have that fixed. Problem I'm having is a rough idle and very low vacuum. Double checked cam timing and I'm sure it's right...
That will work Ben. Let me know your paypal ID and I'll get it sent. I used to have it but it's been awhile.
Thanks, Steve
Edit: I figured out how to go back far enough to get your address. Paypal...
PM'd you on the Spirit Acclaim traveler.
PM sent on SMEC and Infinity.
Steve
I'm in Lorimor, 184 miles from you. The car went to the crusher on the 26th, sorry.
Check here, lots of them http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=15550&cat=10
Thanks Kevin. Should have it on it's way by Saturday.
Badsam,
Sent you a PM.
Steve
Yep, there's two of them:). Your symptoms sound typical of one not working from some owners. I've got to get the fuel lines for mine, sucking air after sitting overnight.:(
Wasn't the previous owner having overboost issues? Could be you inherited problems caused by previous detonation.
Kind of glad you beat me to that car.
